Seems to me that the food coloring in the icing would end up dying us green for several days anyway... not to mention the stickiness factor. Icing WOULD be more fun to remove, though, being edible and all. My hubby might actually like that idea.

Dunno if my boss would like it, though. Of course, my patients are all college students. It's probably nothing they haven't seen before. We'd probably just get complaints because green's the color of a rival school. 8)

Just see if you can find what make-up they actually used for the latest batch of Orions on ENT. It's probably around somewhere.

:guffaw:

Yeah, being green for weeks might not be all that appealing. Though a pregnant Orion dancer...hmmm...first time for everything.

Hey, T'Sara, I think we're gonna have a bit in common. I'm now 17 weeks pregnant. Found out last Sunday... I was on meds for rheumatoid arthritis and it wasn't supposed to be possible, but the Great Cosmic Bird in the sky decided otherwise. This will be #3 for me. :)

And yeah, recently been through the lovely US health care system myself, though I'm eternally glad we've got one, period. Looking forward to one heck of a ride in the next few months...

It's that NC-17 fan fic you girls keep writing.

You have rheumatoid arthritis, Lady Rainbow? That is awful! You are so young. And you have young children to raise. Four years ago (at age 56), I came down suddenly with joint problems where most of my joints were swelling up. I went to a specialist and it took a month of trying different medications before he found something that took the swelling down. I had been life guarding at a camp's swimming pond about six weeks before the swelling started so I asked about lyme disease. He said it was not, but did not give me the tests for it. Then he slowly backed me off the meds over several months and the problem went away. It has not been back, but he can't say definitely if it was rheumatoid arthritis or anything else, for that matter. And he told me it could come back at any time. Sometimes the medical profession cannot get a clean diagnosis on a problem. I am just glad for each day I don't have it because at the worst point, I could hardly walk and I was thinking about applying for disability because my hands were so swollen that it was very painful to use the keyboard at work. Very depressing, it was! So I sure hope your arthritis is under control with meds.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

Haven't had the bravery to post any of my Nc-17 stuff yet. LOL I'm kinda intimidated.

Yeah, it took about a year before they finally settled on RA as a diagnosis. At first, they told me it was tendonitis, but the orthopedic guys were like, "Uh, uh. It's something else." The blood tests were negative for the RA marker, but the inflammation markers were off the charts (a normal one is 20. Mine was mid-60's). Plus, my sister had a lupus scare, so the rheumatologists were like, "Hmmm...." And I was going nuts.

It's better now, though I always joke I can apply to be a meterologist at the TV station. My joints are a better indicator of atmospheric pressure than any advanced radar. LOL. They had me taking methotrexate (which they usually give to people undergoing chemo) and an infusion of Remicade (via IV) every 8 weeks. It was OK until I was in the hospital the last time and they found out I was 15 weeks pregnant. Methotrexate is not recommended for pregnant women, and I'd been taking it weekly. So my OB's sending me to a specialist because we're all worried about the effects of the MTX and the Remicade on the baby. (Re: genetic problems). :(

Yikes, that's enough to keep you up awake at nights. Maybe pregnancy will help with the RA symptoms? I had a bad disk in my neck that would go off and and send me into miserable spasms before I got pregnant, and I haven't had any trouble with it since. (Knock wood.) Those flexibility hormones are good stuff. I know RA is actually auto-immune, but anything that helps reduce inflammation is probably your friend, right?

And I really don't think you should feel intimidated about NC-17 in this crowd. As long as it's not T/A NC-17....

Yeah I think you should consider submitting it, this is a pretty good crowd. :) Or if it's not ENT (and even if it is), you could always submit it to The Guardian of Forever. ;)

 Well, what (little) I've written is ENT, but not TnT. (And don't worry, Alelou, it's not A/T :faint:). Some R/S, mostly, and some backstory for the Switcheroo Series...(Hayes/Sato, BEFORE Malcolm comes on the scene. *ducks flying objects*).

Well, with your level of productivity, I'm sure you could turn your hand to a little TnT whenever you wanted...like how'd this mysterious bond form in your switcheroo universe in the first place? Huh???? Couldn't that require a little hot action, tragically forgotten, until.......????

:)
