So why don't you search the internet for recipes and persuade your wife to make them for you :)

And... if I was telling my wife: Mh... I have heard about some delicious foods. American foods. Maybe... ahem... if we go there...

 If you come to Seattle, I will bake you snickerdoodles.

They're very good.

I don't know about the wiki article, though...snickerdoodles have no variants. No raisns, no chocolate chips, no nuthin'. If you add something to it, it's not a snickerdoodle

Cream of tartar is potassium hydrogen nitrate (I think I remember that right...) Weird, huh? Cooking is chemistry. :D

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Yeah I liked it. It was great Stargate, it was just... normal Stargate. Nothing new.

justTripn wrote:Wow . . . you're watching Star Wars for the first time. Cool . . .

I want to warn everyone against a horrible movie I saw yesterday with my kids: "Wanted." One of my boys works at a movie theater and got us tickets. I litterally wanted to walk out. I kept begging my son, PLEASE, let's go eat something.

My son Paris claimed "Wanted" was better than "The Matrix." I went IMPOSSIBLE! So we ended up at the movie. UGH!!! Like in "The Matrix," there is a contrived reason why its fine to beat and kill people right and left. Except in "Wanted" they put about two seconds thought into contriving this reason. The mayhem in "Wanted" is carrried out by assassins who get their kill orders from a giant loom. YES A GIANT LOOM, that they follow without question. You know like as in weaving.

If anyone of the assassins is beat-up, shot, stabbed, hit with a bus, whatever they just toss the assasin into a magic bath and he or she is rejuvenated. So now we have addressed all possible moral objections to violence (with a all-knowing loom, and a magic regenerative bath) LET THE KILL-FEST BEGIN!

OH! And the assasins can shoot bullets that curve around things and do everything else we saw in the Matrix, but no backstory is given for any of these superpowers.

So for the first half of the movie the newly recruited assasin is "trained" by being beaten mercilessly by Angelina Jolie and friends. Then he is thrown in a bath, then beaten again the next day. Until one day . . . HE IS FINALLY ABLE TO SHOOT BULLETS IN A CIRCLE.

ARGGGHHH . . . when I complained, my son goes . . . This isn't a physics class.

This one goes on my list of 10 worst movies I have ever seen.

The physics was actually believable. SPOILERS BELOW about this movie.

They were addressing the issue of putting a torque on the bullet like a curve ball... it's theoretically possible, but I had tons fo other probelsm with this movie.

I saw it also. And out of 10 I'd give it like a 5. I'd give Angelina Jolie's hotness a 9.75, even though I never previously found her all that attractive. For me it was the tats. Hoooly crap.

The other thing is that it did have some pretty cool stunts. I'm not an action film aficionado by any means but there were... Well I can think of two stunts in a car that I hadn't seen done before, at least not in exactly identical ways.

The gun fighting, however - save for the bullet curving - was basically ALL taken from either the Matrix, which EVERYBODY has ripped off, Equilibrium - which had MUCH cooler gunkata than Matrix anyway, and Shoot Em Up - which was unapologetically meant to have the most absurd and ridiculous gun stunts of all time... Oh plus they ripped off the whole "following the bullet path with the camera" from at least two video games of which I am aware, "Elite Sniper", and "Max Payne", and I think maybe even the movie Shoot Em Up.

Plus, there were 5 main gun/suspension-of-disbelief problems I had with this movie that aren't strictly about violations of the laws of physics, but of just... reality.

1. Bullets that come apart.

They made it look like "Ooooh, to make shots from like, oh, I don't know, a mile and a half away", you have to have these...revolutionary, 3-part bullets! That have stages like the Saturn V! Nope, sorry. You can make 1.5+ mile shots with milspec or match grade handloaded .338 Lapua, .408 Chey Tac and/or .50 BMG sniper rounds. But that doesn't look as cool, I suppose ,even if it makes 10 times more sense.

2. Having your heart beat 400 BPM doesn't make you an awesome shot. It makes your heart explode.

Ok, so ask D how long a human being would survive at 400 BPM. I'm pretty sure it's oh... like ZERO. My target heart rate after a hard run is 180 BPM, my max heart rate is supposed to be 198-205 and on one occasion when I timed it at 240, someone told me there was no way, because I'd be dying. Secondarily, adrenaline and high HR do certain things to your body on a SMALL time frame, like giving you the ability for short bursts of strength, but shooting is something that takes fine motor control, and accurate, sharpshooter shooting takes INCREDIBLY fine motor control. Snipers actually train so hard physically in part to bring their resting heart rate down so they can maintain slow breathing. It's a very well understood fact that when your HR skyrockets due to stress or life-and-death situations (such as exhibited in the movie) that you lose fine motor control rapidly, above, like 130 BPM.

3. Pistols can only DO so much.

A pistol and a pistol cartridge are fundamentally limited, in an engineering sense. Sure, you can pay 5 grand for a custom competition version with match grade ammo, best around, but you just simply can't do some things with them. EVEN IF you had the sensory ability to focus on a target on a 75 mph moving train from 50 yards, the weapon just has mechanical limitations.

4. They never train on rifles.

I can't see an assassin, even a half-assed one, particularly a marksman, even one who uses pistols generally, NOT training on a rifle, but training his ass off on a pistol. This is a smaller issue than the others, but in the end of the movie he pulls off what looks to be a 1.5-2 mile (2400-3400 M) shot, which might be physically possible, because the .338 Lapua has pulled off a shot at 2600 M and the .50 BMG definitely has the ballistics to do it. The primary limitation is the human ability to predict wind, humidity and dew point values along a 2 mile flight path. But, with the ballistics calculator they've built into the .408 Chey Tac Interceptor System, it's probably going to become possible to deliver semi-accurate fire to ranges moving up to 3000 M pretty soon, especially if you include those rounds above .50 BMG like the 20MM that the Russians use in a few rifles. But again, the kid never trained on a damn long gun.

5. The Clairevoyant Loom

Again, if you haven't figured it out by now, there are spoilers here. But a loom that screws up every once in awhile, leaving a thread sticking up or down here or there, representing 1's or 0's, converted into binary, doesn't predict the future. Weird.

That being said, Angelina's move at the end (I'll hold onto it, let one secret survive) was pretty cool. That one probably isn't possible.

Did I mention her tattoos were hot?
