We sometimes lose power in the winter, but at least then we can put our food outside and be sure it won't spoil. Do you have plenty of clean water? That is one of the main concerns.

Finally back and connected to the net. I had to go 5 days without internet(shivers) and the TV had only 3 channels. I was working in another city and I stayed at I think they call them guest apartments were the night can cost up to 300$ and there was no chance of getting connected. There were wall net sockets but I think they hadn't set up any service to the building. I'll be going back next week but will be staying in a different place that should have net. There was absolutely nothing to do in the evenings :faint: .

^^I'm afraid that putting our food outside is rarely an option down here. If the coons don't get it, then it spoils even faster than if we just leave it in the powerless refrigerator, even in the winter.

Things are opening up again all over town down here in Lafayette parish. Sounds like you got it worse than we did, DD. (Do you mind abbreviations? Dusalis Drake's kinda long to type with two fingers. 8) )

Don't feel left out or disappointed Dis. You can always look forward to Ike. I guess Hannah is supposed to miss y'all and take off up the east coast? But Ike looks nicely threatening last time I looked.

DD is fine by me. I won't be able to get back to LSU until at least Monday which is wreaking havoc with my due dates :? . Hopefully no more hurricanes will have the same name as rocket launchers.

There's a rocket launcher named Gustav? Who woulda thunk?

Are you a student or faculty over there at LSU, DoubleD? What's your field?

I like Ike too. (Though I'm also not THAT old.) Which is to say I wouldn't want to be on the other side when he's invading...
