Yes, my Uncle Richard, who'd lived in the US for awhile before his parents moved back to Scotland (for awhile), always wanted peanutbutter from America. My father was much younger and missed those formative years. He's lived in the US since he was 12 or 13 but he still thinks peanutbutter is appalling.

But he doesn't like marmite or vegemite either. I think that may be more English than Scottish. I could be wrong, though.

My favorite British foods I seldom see here are Lyle's Golden Syrup, Ribena, Cox's Orange Pippin apples, and granary loaves. And chocolate-covered digestive biscuits. Mmmm.

Meh, they're alright. Not chocolatey enough, really.

I can get peanut butter over here, but consistently surprise people with the uses I put it to and how much I use. Peanut butter on apple slices was new, and I got a shocked reaction to how much I put on my peanut butter and Fluff sandwich (quite aside from the shock at the Fluff). I said that I wanted to taste the peanut butter and it's not meant to be spread as thinly as Vegemite.

Hey... I won a year's subscription to Us Weekly and I'm just really not interested in that stuff. Anyone wants my subscription? I don't know if I can actually transfer it, but I can always do a change of address :)

Do we have any Scrantonians on the board? Does anyone want to recommend a good, reasonably-priced family restaurant that's not too hard to find or get into in Scranton PA on an early Saturday night? Preferably not a chain?

The Costarrican female U-17 football team is about to play against the German team. I hope we don't do too badly... :? Last time any of our teams played against Germany in a World Cup, we lost 5-2.

A guy from Sweden answers this? Actually, my search does turn up Katie's Restaurant and notes that it has been closed for twenty years...

Well, I follow the US presidential campaign (since I work for a newspaper).

Actually, my search does turn up Katie's Restaurant and notes that it has been closed for twenty years...

Tell that to Joe Biden! ;)

Clearly more searching is required.

But I think it's safe to say Joe Biden grew up there more than 20 years ago...

Anyone know how to find the top and bottom inner diameters of a hollow cylinder from the volume and the outer diameter?

"A vertical true centrifugal castig process is used to cast brass tubing that is 15 in. long and whose outside diameter = 8.0 in. If the speed of rotation during solidification is 1000 rpm, determine the inside diameters at the top and bottom of the tubing if the total weight of the final casting = 75.0 lb."

"The difference in inside radius between the top and bottom is related to the speed of rotation as follows: N = (30/Pi)[(2*g*L)/(Rt^2 - Rb^2)]^1/2
Where L = vertical length of the casting, Rt = inside radius at the top of the casting, Rb = inside radius at the bottom of the casting, g = the gravitational constant (32.2 ft/s^2), and N = the rotational speed in RPM."

Using the above equation, I determined (Rt^2 - Rb^2) = 0.007340719 ft^2

The density of brass = 0.313 lb/in^3, which I used to determine the volume of the cast part to be 239.62 in^3.

There is no illustration of the part, but none of the problems require them since the problems are all basically numbers games of manipulating the numbers you have to get the numbers you want.
