Ah, peanut butter, another of those quirky Americanisms that makes no sense to outsiders. I cannot even begin to descibe how I feel when I try and picture that together with jelly!

She's got an awfully nice bum!

Eww. PB&J is like totally yuck.
Probably thought up by the Pregnant Women Association of Northern America.

Re: Randomness
You should try peanut butter with cane syrup and sliced bananas in a sandwich. Heavenly.

I still don't get the weird mix of sweet and... well, not-sweet!

I never use cane syrup, but those are "monkey sandwiches." Tastier than PBJ, I think.Distracted wrote:You should try peanut butter with cane syrup and sliced bananas in a sandwich. Heavenly.
Heh, when I lived in the dorms for two years I wasn't getting protein early enough in the morning (or that's why the Health Center said I had zero energy) so I took to eating peanut butter straight out of the squeeze tube. It helped, actually, and it's not bad.Kevin Thomas Riley wrote:Ah, peanut butter, another of those quirky Americanisms that makes no sense to outsiders.

Ugh. Dude I can't believe I was actually addicted to that thing

It tones the sweetness down to a tolerable level.

Re: Randomness
Down here in the southern US we mix sweet and not sweet a lot. Barbeque sauce is just loaded with sugar... and baked honey ham'll melt in your mouth. A woman I know even crumbles breakfast sausage and puts it IN her pancake batter. Then you cover the stack with syrup. Yum.Kevin Thomas Riley wrote:I still don't get the weird mix of sweet and... well, not-sweet!

Re: Randomness
Never did that...but I have seen tuna salad with apples in it. And my dad used to make stewed chicken with raisins and beer. Makes a surprisingly good rather sweet gravy. I hear that there's a hotel restaurant in Hershey, Pennsylvania with a full menu from salads through vegetables, meats, starches and desserts in which EVERY item has chocolate in it. And I mean EVERYTHING.

Re: Randomness
Well, I know chicken mole is good, if its made right - I wonder if that menu is online. Chocolate in a salad. Erg.
Tuna salad with apples is good. Put in an eqaul amout of celery, and chop 'em medium dice.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Okay I'm really hungry now.

Re: Randomness
I know what you mean. I think there's a couple of old Oreos in my desk somewhere...
