Drinking: cough syrup ugh gross. Like seriously why can't they make it like a pill or something that people don't actually have to TASTE it?? I was considering getting the sugarless cough syrup for diabetics but then I saw it had other unhealthy sweeteners. I don't even know why they bother to add flavors anyway, like I seriously doubt it could taste any worse without the sweeteners. Less sweet, yeah, but actually worse?? Highly unlikely a spoonful of sugar does NOT make the medicine go down without a fight. This thing makes me hack like I got a hairball. I can't believe people actually drink that dren recreationally!! And it's the non-alcoholic stuff

^Most multi-symptom cold tablets have something for coughs in it; it just won't work as fast because the pills take longer to break down. Alternately, you could buy Mucinex. There's one formula that's just an expectorant, and one that's an expectorant with a cough suppressant. Both are handy-dandy pills that, with enough water, you can swallow without tasting.

Well but I already spent my money on the cough syrup. And I don't have multiple symptoms anyway, like it started with a sore throat (REALLY sore throat that kept me up all night) and all but it went away on its own now all that's left is the stupid cough, and it didn't look like it was getting better that's why I got the cough syrup. Hopefully I'm not gonna have to use it for much longer

Wow, I seem to have digitally transmitted my flu to you, T'Poptarts. I've been ill throughout nearly all of November/December.


You'll not catch me buying huge drives. From my experience they tend to be horrificly slow, so I will happily go out and pay through the nose for 10k/15k RPM UltraSCSI drives just to get the speed, even if I end up with less space. They also tend to be quieter too. I hear them start up but once they're at full speed I can't hear them unless I have my ear to the drive, which is just epic on media center PCs. For example, an 146GB UltraSCSI320 15k Seagate would currently set me back $160, but god they're so fast. Plus on SCSI I could have upto 14 drives on one card, and up to 4 cards, each with RAID. If you've got the money (I don't ATM) its a no-brainer

I'm mostly done with that. Wrapping presents is one of those things you can do without power. (Unfortunately, remembering that you stashed a bunch of gift bags and name tags under the stairs in the basement last year depends on your brain working, not the electricity.)

Just tryin' to help. Sometimes I take the multi-symptom tablets even when I don't have some of the symptoms, because they're all I have in the house and I don't necessarily have money to buy something else. It hasn't killed me yet. :wink

I'm still coughing from that bug I got after Thanksgiving, but I think a lot of the symptoms I still have are because it's so dry in the house.

I usually don't take any meds for a cold and just wait it out, I shouldn't have taken anything now really because it just made me feel worse. So I stopped. Well and it was really gross too. It made my mouth taste like metal and now I'm hungry and I don't feel like eating anything because of my fritzed out taste buds, and my stomach's growling if I don't feed it soon it's gonna eat me.
