Watching: X-Men TAS episode "Time Fugitives part 2". Like both Bishop and Cable are trying to save their own futures, and Cable think he's supposed to stop Bishop to save his future, and then the computer asks Cable why he didn't kill Bishop.

Computer: "question: why did you not destroy Bishop in the previous encounter?"

Cable: "I've seen too much killing in my life. Bishop is only trying to help his people."

Computer: "illogical. The needs of the many prevail over the needs of the few."

Bwahahaha they use Vulcan computers in the 40th century  8) :vulcan:

Edit: now I'm watching the episode "Reunion part 1" and Sinister wants Professor X to call the X-Men to come to his trap and the prof obviously doesn't wanna do it, so he gets Sauron to hypnotize him into submitting, and Sauron goes like "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!"

What am I doing, hmmm. Haven't been around here much lately, but trying to catch up on some fan fiction reading. I am reading the shorter pieces. Multi-part stories, I wait until they are finished or I lose the plot line between chapters; must be my age, LOL. And sorry, though I love to read fan fiction, due to family stuff and non-ST writing, have not had the time to read that I used to, darn. :(

I am about half way through writing a mainstream fiction novel and don't know if it is crap or has potential, LOL. I am taking a novel crafting class where we critique each other, so I will find out in a couple of weeks. I have the itch to jump back into Star Trek space to write a few fics and resistance to that is - as they say - futile. So I will scratch that itch occasionally by submitting a few vignettes from time to time. 8)
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Watched Ip Man http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1220719/ today. It's the best kung fu movie I have seen for a while. Also watched the last Indiana Jones. The alien theme was cool

Does it be worth?
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Finished reading a fan fic story on the bus going to work today. Will read another fan fic story I print off at lunch time, on the bus going home from work today. Right now? Working. Darn.

That sounds yummy...

I'm currently whining along with my best friend at how bad the Pride and Prejudice movie is compared to the book. We're both big Jane Austen fans, and we took the afternoon to watch the movie. We were not pleased.

The most recent one?

I agree, but I truly do like the casting and all that earthy farm ambience. I also like their take on Mrs. Bennett -- she's usually overplayed (arguably Austen overplayed her too). They really overdid the goo-goo romance, though, to the point of retch-retch at the end.

My favorite is still the old BBC version with Elizabeth Garvie and David Rintoul, though I would have swapped him out for Colin Firth if I could have. :D

Yup, the most recent one. My friend and I did like Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, yet my friend had more problems with Elizabeth's portrayal than I did. Darcy and Bingley were a no-go for both of us. We actually started doing a whole re-casting while watching.

It has to be very difficult to cram all the aspects of Pride and Prejudice into a 2-3 hour movie, and sometimes the scenes just felt disconnected. The book has so much internal monologues and build-up that we were surprised that the people who haven't actually read the book understood the movie. And yeah, way too much mushy romance. So not P & P... Apparently, the rental we had today was the Brit version, so the movie ends immediately after Elizabeth talks to her father. My friend made me watch the alternate US ending--the whole "Mrs. Darcy" thing--to torture me.

But I definitely had fun. It's nice to watch a bad movie with friends.

I liked this latest Darcy, but he definitely was a departure. Played more shy and less haughty, which is stretching it a bit in an attempt to curry favor with contemporary American audiences probably. And Bingley was just a hopelessly dumb blond. I liked this Caroline Bingley, though.

I didn't know the British version left off the appalling ending. I would have liked it much better without the last twenty minutes. Gah.

If you want to see a truly howlingly bad verison of P and P, you must see the original black and white classic with Lawrence Olivier and Greer Garson and the weird Civil War era costumes and the classic exchange, "You're too proud!" "And you're too prejudiced!"

There's also a Mormon version set in Utah which is pretty awful.

I enjoyed the Bollywoodish take that came out a few years ago. Bride and Prejudice, maybe? It was cute. One of Mira Nair's films, I think.
