T'Sara- it makes a little more sense, and the parts that don't I'll just nod and smile.
Rigil, what's a "skate class?" Does that mean useless or something?

I meant it as a class that I'm not going to work very hard in to get an A or B in it.

Re: Randomness
Oh, I get it. When possible, I liked to take one such class a semester.
Oh, I get it. Those are good if you're interested in the class, but if it's a required class it's just dull.

It's General Physical Science. For a sci-fi nerd like me, it's a skate class.
Providing I can actually get to class, now that my clutch died.

I'm more likely to walk or bike it. The campus is a community college and can't be more than 5 miles away.

Re: Randomness
Not in Oklahoma. The drivers here are fraking insane. And it'll be like God's own hair dryer with the hot wind we get. Fortunately, the class starts at 1830, so it'll have started cooling by then.
And, on the bright side, I can actually get some exercise.

Yay that bitch Boom moved to another room. Because she's like totally disrespectful and she managed to piss everyone off. I think what finally got her attention was the note I put on my suitcase "PLEASE DON'T STEP ON MY STUFF (THIS SHOULD GO WITHOUT SAYING)"
like what the frell. So I might actually get some sleep tonight.
Dammit I don't wanna sleep though I wanna watch some more BSG
I'm hyped now. But it's late and I'm tired. Waah.

Re: Randomness
Sorry to hear about your clutch, Rigil. Hope you can get it fixed soon. The drivers out there sound about the same as the nuts that drive around here...
TPoptarts, the search option on ff.net is kind of specific--you have to tell it to search by author (default setting), title or summary. And it makes it easier if you happen to tell it what category (what TV show/movie or whatever) to search in (at least, that'll cut down the number of possible matches you'll get). But yeah, it can be a pain at times.

Was this the army that invaded your country, ma'am? No, officer, they were taller than that...
How about this one? I'm not sure--get them to march up and down a bit...

Re: Randomness
Sixty-three years ago, the Battle of Normandy took place. How many people, do you think, don't even know the importance of that engagement or the heroism of the men who stormed those beaches, knowing what was arrayed against them? They've been called "The Greatest Generation" and I remain ... astounded at what they went through...
"Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Forces: You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
"Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.
"But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!
"I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!
"Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking."
-Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Commander

The generation that literally saved the world.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Re: Randomness
And we are sadly loosing that generation 1500 WWII veterans a day, I have been told by people who stand watch at veteran funerals. My son-in-law did a bit of that when he was in the Navy Reserve a couple of years ago.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

HEY T'Poptarts!
Here's that Voyager parody I told you about.
WARNING: The Archivist rated it NC-17 because of the foul language in the story. And I agree with her assessment of the situation. If you don't like NC-17 fiction that isn't exacly erotica, I highly recommend you stay away.
Summary: Kes catches a viral strain of Tourette's Syndrome.

Yes, and let's not forget the men who fought in the Pacific, too.
