Heh! Poor Trip if T'Pol "convinces" him to become a veggie! Oh, wait... Razz

And speaking of military meals, from my one year as a conscript in the Swedish Army (way back in 1989-90) I remember a meal called "Risotto 851" that was originally canned somewhere around anno dazumal! Yuck! Upchuck

LOL

I know it's odd.....but due to a medical condition I basically HAD to become a vegetarian recently.

At least the veggie burgers aren't too bad.

Confused Mind if I ask what type of medical condition?

I have a neighbor who after he had a heart transplant, was told to cut out virtual all meat. But was also told he can eat all the venison (deer) he wanted. When more then one member of my house hold gets a deer come deer season, we usualy give him the meat from one of them.

Confused Well I had a fun day. Last saturday I broke down an put down a down payment on a brand spankin new Discbine (Hay mower). Yesterday was the first day I used it, an I fell in love right away. First time in a long time I mowed any hay with out havin a mower blade, guard, drive belt, or what not break on me.. Well then Today happened. I made it all the way to 2:30 pm, an I hit a rock the size of a bowling ball. This Damn Rock bent 3 knives, two of which I had to replace. And then on top of that this damn rock managed to bend another part of the machine. Luckly the dealer was able to get me the new part today. But dang it things were so bent out of shape it was actualy waring a grove into my New Machines frame work in one spot. Bitch I frakin hate rocks!!!!

I still have some find memories or trading various food items around to get the meal you really wanted (because everyone had their favorite items). I liked both kind of crackers myself, especially with the nacho cheese that came ina squeeze tube, and the chocolate pound cake was frakkin awesome. Drool I think my favorite meal was the chili and macaroni. Drool

Yes, but you're really weird. And simply based on your description of the MREs, I can tell that you didn't eat any of the ones that I did.

My favorite was actually Corned Beef Hash. We'd crank up the Bradley, toss the actual meal packets into the exhaust area and wait for a couple of minutes. Presto. Insta-heat. Worked wonders if you didn't have access to civilization or those little heater things.

Sure.... I have PCOS.

My doctor told me that a Vegetarian diet has been shown to be helpful with some woman in controlling the symptoms.

She gave me a list of foods that are good to eat to help me get protein and other nutrients I need.

That depends. Can you at least have eggs and dairy, T'Sara? My best friend is a vegetarian and she drinks soy milk and eats soy cheese. Now as it happens I am a milkoholic (my roommates thought I was joking the first time I said that I need 2 gallons of milk a week), and I love cheese. I also like chicken, but it's the milk and cheese that get me. I adore my dairy - and should never get osteoporosis!

Was it round like a bowling ball? If it was, you (or someone else) could paint it for a nice decoration. Then at least something good would come out of it.

Yes....it sure makes breakfast easier!

I am not a big fan of soy milk....I prefer the real thing myself.....but one of the posters on the dance website I mod at told me that there are many milk options other than soy nowadays and that I should try one of them.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading something about some improvements to them in the late '90s in Popular Science or Popular Mechanics. According to Maxim the UK still has the best ones, followed by Canada and then the US, but yes, the new brown bagged ones are much better than the old green bagged ones from what I hear.

Does it make me a bad person to laugh at Paris Hilton's crybaby antics after being told she has to serve her time in jail and not her million dollar estate?

Sorry to butt in...but I can't help it. It's what I do for a living. Beans aren't a complete protein. If you're gonna eat lentils, red beans, chickpeas, etc for your protein source you need to add a grain like rice to the meal (brown rice has more nutrients.) Both have to be consumed at the same time to get all of the amino acids in your bloodstream required for protein synthesis. If all of the amino acids aren't present at once, synthesis doesn't take place and the amino acids are eliminated or broken down. Muscles don't get repaired and your lean muscle mass goes down over time. Your body can't store amino acids like it stores glucose and fat. Nuts, on the other hand, are complete protein sources, and so are eggs and milk. Just a tip in case anyone's thinking about going vegetarian.

Yeah, the ones we have over here a pretty reasonable. Father of a friend used to be in the army and he has boxes of these thing pilled up. The coffee+tea fairly crap, though

Absolutely not! One of the anchormen over here mentioned that she was dragged out of court screaming. Best laugh I had all day! Laughing

That's ok!

Thanks for the added note.....the pamphlet my doc gave me covered that as well.

I just didn't include it on the list.

In any case....The Paris Hilton thing has me most amused.

At the same time I happy that a celeb is finally paying their dues after breaking the law.....many of them do not, and quite frankly the double standard pisses me off.
