Re: The Bot is Back
Hmmm... well Gigabot has 10 less hits on the site (with a total of 321 hits as of this morning) than Googlebot currently has, but Gigabot has used twice as much bandwidth (12 MB to 6 MB) over that same time period.
Still nowhere as bad as Googlebot was in January, though, when it was using over a GB of memory by itself.
But like I said, I'll keep my eye on it. If it gets really annoying, then it will go bye-bye, same as Googlebot did.

Was this the army that invaded your country, ma'am? No, officer, they were taller than that...
How about this one? I'm not sure--get them to march up and down a bit...

Why are you guys obsessing about some stupid bot anyway?
Don't you guys know that they show up to every single board you visit? The only difference is, you can actually see the fact that they're on this board because of the version of pHpBB we're using (you couldn't, in fact, see any of them on this board before dark_rain upgraded from v.2 to v.3 of that).
Like I said, I'm watching it. If it gets to be a problem, it'll be taken care of, until then, I'm not worried. 321 visits for the month of May through yesterday morning is not that many, considering Googlebot had over 30,000 visits in January before dark_rain put the kibosh on it.

Just thought I'd say something....not trying to be a pain in the rear.

Re: The Bot is Back
All I want to know is who keeps exchanging Private Messages with the Yahoo [Bot]. Maybe if you stopped talking to it, it'd go away!

Re: The Bot is Back
Hey!
It's the coollest bot I've ever talked to. Maybe if you guys weren't so judgmental it'd come out of its shell and actually post on the board. Sigh. Cylonphobes

Whhat does one say to a Bot?

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?
