Here is a YouTube video called "Pyro Dylan 2" of my grandson, Dylan, fire spining (fire poi). I think he is pretty good for just starting out. Do you remember Jadsia had fire spining for her pre-wedding party when she married Worf on DS9. Dylan has had aspirations to be an actor, so I guess this is not a bad thing to add to his skill set. Dylan is only 15 years old.

Re: Member pics
Thanks, Alelou! LOL, Heather, Dylan's mother, besides weilding the camera was also his spotter. She had a wet towel to put him out if he caught fire. I was not there when they made the video in back of their apartment. I am surprised the building manager didn't try to stop the performance. But I don't think he has anywhere else to practice. Several teenagers do fire spining at the Pagan festivals we go to, so that is probably where he will perform. I don't think there is a call for fire spinning at half time at high school football games, though I suggested he might try to get gigs like that.

Re: Member pics
I think it would depend on how terrified the school district is of liability issues (or possible associations with paganism, I guess) ...otherwise, they'd probably be delighted to have something that cool at half-time. Too bad there's not a big luau industry in Wisconsin...

Linda, that was really impressive. He is so good at that although, I'm sure a lot of practice is involved.

Re: Member pics
Well, Dylan didn't find a summer job except mowing the lawn at Grandma's (me). He is going to summer school but only half days, so he has a lot of free time to practice fire spinning, LOL. We just last night went to the store for another can of white gas, which is what he uses. He did singe his hair once, but with his shaggy hair cut, you can't tell.
I don't think we would have to tell where else he spins unless he needs performance references. We could just say fire spinning is a Hawaiian art, LOL. But I would hope that Paganism is becoming better known and people are becoming less prejudiced against it as a religion. The pentacle is now accepted by the Veteran's administration on veteran's graves.

WOW!!!
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Re: Member pics
Oh I hope I didn't confuse anyone, Dylan was not the one who did the fire spinning on the DS9 episode, LOL, he would have been way too young.
It is just another example of the same art.

I wasn't confused. (It isn't what inspired Dylan, is it?)

Alelou gets up close and personal with a Klingon.
Found this when looking through some old pictures and figured you guys are the only ones on the planet who will get any where near as much of a kick out of it as I do.
This occurred at an International Reading Association convention up in Toronto many years ago. (Paramount had just taken over Simon & Schuster/Prentice Hall and thought it would make hay with the connection by calling us all Paramount Publishing and I guess the Klingons just followed automatically from there....)

That Klingon is great, Alelou! The look on his face! Like he is ready to sweep you off to his lair.
Love the video, Enterprikayak! Hard working man indeed. Watching the montage of Trip's expressions was great fun.

Yes, the Klingon one is great! Klingons think they have a license to grapple women...lol.
I've been busybusybusy. We sold one house, and then had to move to our tenants (who weren't paying their rent, but were pregnant immigrants...blah blah blah, long story), finally we get them outta the house, and we get IT sold too!
And then the deal falls thru.
And then we SELL it again! Yeehah! Right? Right guys? Yee-hah?
No?
No. The deal falls through. *Stupid first-time buyers and their stupid lack of financing*
So, third time lucky, I guess. We just keep showing it and people love it, but it's 2 bedroom 1 bath and it's 890 sq ft. So everyone who sees it goes, "Oh, we'd take it, except we'd need another bath and another bedroom."
Anyway. I expect it to sell soon, as I'VE RECENTLY SOLD IT TWICE!!!!!!
Priso and I got matching tattoos on Fathers' Day! See:

The center character is Sanskrit for love (turned 90°). Priso's is the same, except his center character is Chinese for eternal.
It hurt, but not as much as the one on the sole of my foot. It's past the crunchy stage now and is getting nice and smooth.
Poor Priso's been off since November, taking all the parental leave for Abigail's birth. (I didn't qualify for any as I "don't contribute to society" in any measurable, taxable form these days.) His 1st day back at work was today. He started at 8 am and he's still there for another hour, tho' it's 930 pm now. Nice first day back. What is that, 14.5 hours?
And one of his coworkers died a week ago, and the guy was the only one trained to do, like ten absolutely vital things to our naval ships here on the west coast. And now it's Priso's and this other guy's job to somehow figure out everything that the guy who died knew. Welcome to the Canadian Navy, everybody! Here's a sandwich! Take a look around!
