Loved your professional photo, Distracted!

Thanks, Linda! I think he's pretty cute, too. You bet I put the sunscreen on him! I sprayed him down with SPF 60. What's odd is that he doesn't burn easily. He doesn't have any freckles either, which I think is unusual for a red-head.

The crying has ceased! He told me today that he still wants to go back to pre-school, though. Growing up is tough, isn't it. Oh to be 5 again!

My five year old - almost six year old - told me in tears a couple months ago "And then I became four and I had to go to school and had to do so many things. I don't like to have to do things! I always have to do things!" (You're still going to clean up your room, young lady 8) ). And they still tell she has a language problem. :dunno:
I am happy the crying has stopped and your son is getting used to primary school, Aikiweezie.

Oh the trials of childhood . . . I remember when my J. was 3 or 4 years old. I told him to pick up the toys in his room. Without looking at me, he picked up a toy phone and made a pretend call: "Hi, Uncle Dave? Can you take care of me? My mommy is TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!"

Actually, I'm tempted to take that five-year-old's quote into class next week for the 20-30% of the students who clearly view English Composition 101 as an unjust imposition on their lives.

Last Saturday Jim (my husband) and I went to an annual picnic of a retired aviators group Jim belongs to because he is a director of the Mitchell Gallery of Flight which is a small air museum in Mitchell Field. Jim Lovell attended as he has given many items to the museum such has his flight jacket and cockpit checklist for Apollo 13. Jim Lovell has a humorous story about one of his visits to the museum. A women looking at the museum recognized him and asked for his autograph which he gave her. But her young son, about six years old, was not very impressed. The boy had seen the movie with Tom Hanks, so he went over to Jim Lovell and kicked him in the shin saying "you're not Jim Lovell!"

The picnic was at a grass airfield owned by one of the aviators group members. So I snapped a couple of photos inside the hangar where the food was set out:

another photo in the hangar:

here is a photo of my Jim, me, and Jim Lovell:

This photo is of the whole aviators group and their guests. Jim and our friend George are on the left side standing. I am kneeling on the right side, front row. Jim Lovell is in the middle. The airplane behind us was rolled out of the hangar so we could have the food inside:

That's really neat! Just the other day I happened to see a documentary on TV about the history of Apollo and there was. Jim Lovell is a true hero. You're fortunate to have met him!

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.
