I just noticed that my actual reply to JzK didn't make it into my post with the quoted portions. Don't know what happened there! :wtf: At any rate, it's Western Civilizaiton to 1649.

1649? Huh. That's a random year to pick, IMO.

I think it stops there because it's a two-fold class--if you take the second semester, you get Western Civ 1649-present. I figured there must be something significant that happened that year that makes it the dividing line, but I didn't really read too much into it since I'm just taking the class because I'm required to take a history class to graduate.

Yeah but I always wondered, is she snarling at Hoshi or Archer. Because while she's cruel/loving to Trip she doesn't snarl at him. So come on Aquarius tell us who you imagine is feeling the wrath of MU T'Pol. ;-)

Ah...I'm not sure I'd say it's "wrath"...and definitely not Hoshi...definitely not Archer.

Beyond that, I'm not talking.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Nope Cole wouldn't be worth the effort, also MU MU MU T'Pol, she wouldn't care about COLE. Please look at the picture it is MU T'Pol. Besides in the modern world women can and do refer to men by that derogetory name at times. In fact it's more insulting to say it to a man than it is a woman now. In some situations women take it as a compliment. Not me. But some.

 Okay, didn't want to go here, but y'all forced me...

The phrase "Say my name, bitch" is not generally associated with two women fighting; rather, it's most often associated with people wearing lots of leather underwear and someone getting spanked. So it's my belief that it is most definitely MU Trip who is on the receiving end of whatever MU T'Pol is dishing out.

And before anybody gets all bent out of shape and grossed out, remember, you asked. And before there's too much speculation about how or why I know this, remember that I'm a psych minor and have taken classes like Psychology of Sex, which included discussion of "deviant" behavior. ;-)

NOW, for something that actually belongs in a thread about Happy News, the grades from my history exam were posted and I got a 94%. :D

Took my linguistics test today. Wasn't as difficult as I expected. Worst-case scenario I come back with a B, but I'll actually be a little surprised if it isn't at least a low A.

I'm not bent out of shape I'll only say that's weird. Congrads on the exam. What does linguistics involve?

Well, it all goes to show that older Human students, like all Vulcan students, are GOOD students. :D

Oh god I wish that were true but it isn't. When I was 17 I had to help the "return to school" people with English Shakespere to be exact, they complained more then anyone else. Finally the Professor said, "Hey look I was hoping better from you all, I expect this with the kids, but you all should know better." I agree the kids sometimes go to school so mom and dad will pay the bills for another four years, but return to schoolers they should apply themselves and work hard. So good for you Aquarius.

Let me rephrase that "statisitically, older returning students are good students". I did not say all older students are good students, I said all Vulcan students are good students. But that may not be true as possible some Vulcans are not good students. But the older people who I know that have returned to school are very motivated and are not childish and complaining. And they do well because they are focused on a goal. They are in school not because they have to be but because they want to be.

I know I just get mad that unless you count the color theory class I took with a bunch of aspiring interior designers, all of the "returns" I went to school with were spoiled jerks, who were more distracting than my peers.

Well, speaking as an "older" student, I can honestly say that the reasons you probably heard so many people in that age bracket complain so much is because we have things like careers (and I don't mean the McJob that teens and younger college people tend to have), kids, house payments, car notes, and other life demands that people who go straight from high school graduation to college just don't have. Tons of homework and exams harsh on more than just our bar nights, and important areas of our lives that we've given priority to for years begin to suffer if we give the attention to our books that is needed. Honestly, I really don't know how my mom did it, with a kid at home and a house to take care of and a waitressing job--and no husband or older kids to help her out, just my grandparents to look after me before and after school, until she got home.

So trust me, I doubt it was complaining for its own sake. I've been in college at both ages now, and as a 30 something who's also seen it from the late-teen perspective, older students face a much more delicate juggling act. The only reason I'm pulling it off and doing well is circumstances have developed in such a way that I can say that grades are my number one priority, with everything else coming behind that. It sounds kind of backward, but in terms of making school a priority, I'm fortunate that I'm no longer in a relationship and that I'm poor enough that I've qualified for adequate help in order to pay for this, so I can do what I need to do to make my life better when this is all over.
