This weekend I'm at the Maly's Art of Beauty hair show in Grand Rapids, MI. The biggest names in my profession are speaking and teaching here--basically, think of it as being the hair version of a "Monsters of Rock" festival.

Today, I had the privilege of meeting and having my picture taken with Robert Cromeans, artistic director of John Paul Mitchell systems. (Think: when Wayne and Garth met Alice Cooper: "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!")



Too bad it's an awful picture of me but at least I have evidence of meeting a legend in my business!

You look very glad, Aquarius, and I'm happyfor you.

I will bet that if ASSO posts a photo of himself when he was 25 we would see a very, very handsome young man. that is a Hint ASSO

Ah, the 70's! Time of our fleeting youth (for some of us ). And about those photos, Asso, I'll never tell! Now where are those 70's photos of mine? Oh, yeah, that was before digital cameras. That was before personal computers. That was before...well, never mind. At least it wasn't before the dinosaurs but you will never convince my grandchildren of that.

Aquarius, I know how you feel about the photo not being one of the best of yours, but you show it anyway because of the celebrity standing beside you! I felt that way about my photo with James Lovell.

Yeah, you have to scan the old photos in. I am thinking of getting a good scanner and scanning in all my old photos. I would still keep my old photo albums though, because I don't know how long digital photos last, or whether they deteriorate with copying them. Anybody know what is the best way to store photos for your great-great-great-great grandchildren? I think I'm going to photoshop one of me as a child standing next to a dinosaur with a saddle on and say it was what I rode to school.

Aquarius, I'm glad you got to meet one of your idols. Conservative me is skeptical of that beard. butl, it makes a splash.

Scanners nowadays are great. If you scan a photo on the right settings, you can then go in and correct for all sorts of problems. Depending on your patience, you can even get rid of those mangled marks from old folds and things. I often prefer my scanned photos to the originals.
