Re: The Whine thread.
Certain varieties can overwinter if they are mulched (usually so you can go harvest them in the middle of winter). But I've never heard anything about sprouts making it. But onions continually surprise me with their toughness. So it will be an experiment!
Unfortunately I've completely forgotten what variety these were, so if it works I guess I'll just have to keep saving seed.

I'm a brown thumb, I couldn't even keep an aloe plant alive. It's kind of huiliating when both grandmothers are geniuses with plants. Add to that I'm alergic to every onion there is and I don't know what I'm talking about.

Re: The Whine thread.
HELP!!!!!!!!! My kitty has worms. Don't ask how IDK she's an indoor cat. Anyway we got the medicine on monday and dosed her food and she finally ate it all today. Not without vehement protest but whatever. But here's the thing, the medicine only said to put 200mgs in with her food. But they didn't say how many doses it would take. So how long should I wait until I know it's working? I have no clue.

Re: The Whine thread.
Poor kitty! I hope the worms get lost!
Whine: I done and gone burned my hand on the stupid wood stove AGAIN TODAY!
A few days ago it was my forehead because I leaned in too far to blow on the coals: I got a big stripe across my forehead from the edge of the door opening. (Then I leaned in to blow on them some more, and I bunred my head A SECOND TIME!!! IN THE SAME SPOT!!!) I still have the 2 stripes. Yes, laugh at me if you will.
Today it`s my right knuckles. And they`re fine...that`s the worst part...YOU CAN HARDLY SEE IT AND IT HURTS LIKE FREAKING HELLLL!

Is it tapeworm?
Gosh, it's been so long since I dealt with that...each of my cats had it when I first got them, but that was 19, 16, and 14 years ago, respectively.
I never dosed my kitties' food, I pilled them directly because if it's one thing they all had in common, it's that they wouldn't eat punked food.
I think it was a 10 day thing...I seem to remember them giving me enough pills to do the job, and when the pills were gone, we were done. Call your vet in the morning and double-check.

Re: The Whine thread.
Ouch. A wet paper towel held against the burn might help, at least early on.

De-worming humans with Vermox for pinworms only takes one dose. I repeat it in a week sometimes to make sure. Dunno about cats. What worm are you treating? If you know you could probably google it.

Well, the weird weakness and shortness of breath seems to be passing. I did, however, lose 8 pounds during the week it went on. Maybe it was a weird virus or something. Anyhow, I have an appointment on the 15th and I plan on asking them to check my blood just to be certain I'm not anemic.
Today's fun? Stuck in the parking lot at Wal-mart with a cart full of groceries and a car that won't start. I had to get a ride home with the tow guy. How embarrassing.

Heck, Elassar, I'd settle for three more years at my current salary level instead of a pension check starting in April. But I wouldn't pass up six billion if it wondered by unattended.

Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Mom says kitty has roundworms. I have to get her to vet. Hopefully next week if the electric bill lets me.

That's actually a very sad story. I wonder if their mother was mentally ill or an alcoholic or something to be estranged from her wealthy family like that. She evidently died poor if her boys ended up homeless.
