You need a photobucket account or something similar so you can post a link to the photo. It's free. Just go to photobucket.com and set up an account. Then you can download pics from your computer into your account. Photobucket will assign an http address to each one that you can post in between [ img ] codes.

John, don't worry. Most girls will be impressed that you're a caring and responsible pet owner. If she's not, you probably don't want a long term relationship with her anyway.
But you might want to excuse yourself from the table during the anal sac discussion.
My experience with a cat with a blocked urinary tract was that the cat began to pant and just generally got very weak and lethargic and clearly ill. Not meowing in pain that I can remember.

John--your date will be impressed that you're such a good kitty daddy!
I know what you mean about inopportune timing, though. I had to deal with my vet today over the phone while I was applying a color!

He's 18. But he's walking funny, like his back end is sorta more sluggish than the rest of him... and he cries a lot worse when I pick him up and then like 2 or 3 more times once I even put him down, which is VERY unusual. He doesn't like to move at all, just as little as he has to to find a new place to lay down.
I'm thinking of taking him to the vet but probably can't till Monday. Any idea what could be wrong? I poked and prodded on him in various areas when I finally got him to lay down and he never cried.
He's very old and it could be a whole lot of things. It sounds as if he is in some kind of distress or pain. Many of my elderly cats would cry like this. Is it plaintive? I'm sorry your kitty is sick.

We think he's better! No complaints in the last few days but I spoke to the vet and he's going to go in to get looked at anyway... we're also going to diversify his diet with some cold meats!
the date went well I guess... we've seen each other again but it's just casual.

Re: The Upsetting News Thread
The sort of good news is that Jack came out of his surgery okay but we won't get the pathology report on the tumor for 7 - 10 days.
The scary awful news is that a family was murdered in their home this morning, (mother, father and teenage son) 2 miles from my house. The authorities are saying it wasn't a random thing but they haven't caught anyone yet. That makes me a little nervous. I plan to walk around with my phone and a heavy object until they arrest someone.

Jack is one of my Boston Terriers. He was diagnosed with a Mast cell tumor Thursday.

Re: The Upsetting News Thread
Jack is doing very well, despite the fact that he has a HUGE incision. We should know what his prognosis is by Friday. I think he'll be fine.
As far as the triple murder in my town, it's been established that it was an execution-style murder. The suspect was arrested in Florida today, so the good news on that front is that it was not some kind of random thing - this family was targeted. There's no crazy murderer running around Darien anyway.
