Okay, this idea was inspired by one of Alelou's missing scenes and it's for some new I am working on. My knowlegde of the blues is limited, but guess you're are born and raised in Florida, you're a soldier, about 30 years old, badly injured, you don't know if help is going to come and you think you're going to die. That moment you think of a blues song about dying. Any ideas about the song? It could also be an American old folk song of some kind. The only one I could think of was "To another room" - I heard that once on a album of a blues singer called Dan Smith.

If you're a soldier who's also been traveling the galaxy, you might go for Lyle Lovett's "This Travelin' Around (is gonna be the death of me)." But I think that may be more country/folk than it is blues.

If you want the Blues try Billie Holliday "lady Day", Bessie smith, or Ma Rainey. Old but if you cabn find them they will tear your heart out.

Bessie Smith had a great voice. She bled to death because she was in a Car accident and the white Hospital refused to treat her and she bled to deth on the way to a Black Hospital.

So, I was hoping to finish up Season Two this week and then go on hiatus, but the last episode is not coming easy and I'm noticing that I'm getting kind of cranky with this whole thing, so I think what I'm actually going to do is take a hiatus now. I'll certainly pop back in if the muse attacks; otherwise, expect "The Expanse" sometime before the summer is over. I will get it done eventually, and then I hope Season 3 will be my guilty pleasure in the fall. Thanks for your support. I'm sure I'll still pop in occasionally for reading and forum (and God knows I'll still check for reviews), but I'm going to attempt to drastically restrict my time here for awhile so I can get some other stuff done. You're spot on - on both accounts. Although my recent hiatus was for all the wrong reasons, it really recharged my creative batteries. And Alelou's 2nd season is spectacular and really gave a string of oasis all through the desert hike that was season 2. Being in the same endeavour, I know just how hard it must have been to come up with so many good stories.
