Oh a couple. I could give examples, but I refuse to go there. I'll leave that to my friend JayTee, lol . . .

Anyway . . . you will never believe. Here's something random. I was just watching the news and that Jake guy from Twilight just made a suprise visit to the theater in Pittsburgh were my boys P. and C. work! They are working there now. I just saw this on the news. Now I can't wait to pick up my boys and hear this story.

On a related note, C.'s girlfriend thinks C. looks like Jake. P. and C. are identical twins and so I mentioned that to P. and he said, "Yeah, I get that too." I don't really see it, except in certain movie posters.

Okay - I don't want to give anyone nightmares this late - but this is an awesomely creepy story:

Woman keep corpses of sister and dead husband for 10 years.

That's just...insane! I mean, I kind of get it from the claustrophobia aspect, but...damn!

My big worry is what they're gonna do to the people who helped her dig them up. I mean, what if she just gave a couple of neighbor kids fifty bucks to help her or something? I'd hate for someone like that to get into trouble for doing something they probably realized was illegal but figured nobody would get hurt because they were just trying to make a few bucks helping out a sweet little old lady!

"There must be somebody who created this. It didn't come up like mushrooms."

I just love that line.

I'm trying to imagine what an indoor crypt would look like and how that could possibly help her -- I'm pretty sure they aren't built so that you can go on in and set a spell, maybe fuss with your loved one's make-up...

"It didn't come up like mushrooms" somehow reminds me of "Turtles all the way down." Not completely analogous, but still.

Meanwhile, I have been having fun with this site:

Vaguely related to coming up like mushrooms, there's dog vomit fungus. Because spring was wet (though I'd give a lot for some rain right now) I have a good crop this year -- I borrowed this fella's fun page to illustrate it for you. Actually, it's a slime mold...

Well, this conversation is sufficiently random. Keep up the good work everyone!

The earliest known LOLCat was previously thought to be from 1905, but now a series of LOLCats has been discovered from the 1870s:

and the previous record holder form 1905:

Just continuing the random!

Yep. Looks just like Fido ate a whole bucketload of lemon flavored Starburst.

How to Eat Fewer Insects

Have to admit this doesn't really bother me, except that I think people allergic to insects and people keeping kosher ought to have a fighting chance.

*shakes head* Most of these chemicals are synthetically dirived these days... Though I believe you can get canned grasshoppers, or whatever the local equivalent is, in parts of Africa.

I bought an external harddrive today - a whooping 1,5 TB so it ought to last a while.

I began using the "backup" feature when I connected it to my old desktop, but that seemed to take forever. So I aborted that and tried just copying my files manually (drag and drop) and that works much faster.

Still, it will take me a while. I have yet to move my video and picture files.

Since Escriba is absent from our ranks lately, I think I'll root for the Netherlands today in honor of Panyasan.

Besides, I like rooting for the underdog. (Didn't the octopus choose Spain?)

(I can imagine the opening of the Douglas Adams novel: "The end began when an octopus was put in charge of the planet. As it happened, the octopus was very wise about world cup football, but very stupid at running planets.")
