Nothing randomer than a seagull in the bathroom.

But that is what we have here.

S/he is ever so cute, and I fed him some sardines, and he was just so happy and fuzzy. Priso found him abandoned on the roof at work, and all falling over and starving. He's much more alert now. We'll feed him up for a few weeks until he can fly away. (We live near the ocean).

The splattery mess you see is scattered sardines.

And our puppy (from january) weighs 65 lbs now!

Cute pictures! Taking care of a seagull, great job. Hope she/he will be able to fly soon.

Awwhh . . . what a cute seagull. We "saved" a robin once. That is we rescued him, feed him cat food for a week or so and he learned to fly, and he sat in our back tree for awhile before he disappeared. He didn't know how to hunt for worms or run away from cats, so I don't have high hopes for him, but anyway . . . . they are so adorable. How can you say no?

Heard this on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.

King Tut's Chariot, discovered in 1922 and nearly 3,000 years old, was nearly denied entrance into New York City because it did not have a VIN number.

What's sad is that respect for this stuff is dying rapidly. My seven year old nephew wouldn't know who King Tut is. My sister and I knew about him at age 4.

This is pretty random:

Nudists attempt to break naked Rollercoaster riding world record

The photo is safe for work, btw, said nudists are thankfully and tastefully covered. And they do look like they are having fun.

She's a beautiful woman, and from what I understand very nice and down-to-earth as well.

very charming and classy lady and travels with one hell of an entourage!

By the way, if there's anybody out there who's somewhat musically open-minded but has not as yet seen any reason to expose themselves to Eminem because of his image over the years and the fact that he's a rapper -- watch this because it's truly amazing. He also has a duet on this new album called "Not Afraid", I think with Pink. I mean a lot of people don't really like rap, especially older people, but a lot of his stuff is very unique and it's especially contextual and meaningful. I'll never really be able to explain the culture shock I experienced when JT started singing Eminem's "When I'm Gone" . There's a big article here about how controversial the video is because it's about the cycle of abuse in relationships:

What's also really cool is how the video stars Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan!

"I vonder vere Gunther vent?"

You might remember him from the TV series From the Earth to the Moon. I just found out that the real man died in May, just a few days before I went to KSC.

For anyone who was as captivated by me about the white boarding, job quitting girl - I'm sorry to report it was a big fake.

Thank goodness, the flight attendant who grabbed a beer and escaped down the slide is the real deal.

Double post, but folk hero and slide escaper Steven Slater has spoken to the press.

This blog post also contains a NSFW song in tribute to him.

I think he hit a nerve with everyone who has dealt with a thankless job. Flight attendants are basically responsible for your life and comfort in the air. They have medical training equivalent or greater to an EMT, they have counter terrorism training, they have flight safety training. They also wait on you, have to deal with your oversized carry-ons and clean the trash out of the plane. To see how some passengers ignore and disrespect them drives me batty.

And most importantly, as another writer put it, haven't we all been frustrated that we live in a time when such an awesome thing as a flying machine with a giant inflatable exit slide exists, yet we are only allowed to use the slide in life or death situations? When I was a kid, I definitely thought the slide should be an optional way to exit a plane.

LOL.

I just hope a whole lot of stressed out people who really need their jobs aren't going to see what's happened with this guy and suddenly decide that acting out and ditching their careers with a spectacularly childish gesture is a good way to handle frustration. It's supposed to happen in movies, not real life...

Am I the only one who thinks this guy looks very, very familiar? Does he look just like some actor? (Was it a guy from (the old) 90210?)
