How could I forget! Oh got memorgams today? Worse than the OBGYN, but I haven't figured out why... But I'm healthy.

Okay so being that I'm obsessed to the enth degree with AVATAR I bought the vidoe game. Now I'm a pretty hard gamer as it is, so I tend to be picky. But this I am even more critical of because it's AVATAR, and I think I love it more than SW's. So I got the game and am playing thinking... These graphics ar awful, (on par with ST Elite Force 1) which was disappointing. But I decided to fiddle with the visual options and jacked them up to MAX suddenly WOW these graphics are wonderful! But the game wouldn't run smoothly. Now this happens with most games so to play them you set the graphics on middle ground. But with AVATAR it matters because for playing mode nothing looks right. So I call my mom, I want an alien laptop (it's designed for gamers like me) she says, not happening. I say let me look and see about a new video card... My PC is almost 8 years old, the video card I want is 350$ in the long run 2000$ for the laptop seems cheaper! Why is life so inherently unfair????

So...about 20 dollars a month for 17 months, huh? That's a long time not to go to the movies or eat fast food. Maybe you could convince people to give you cash for your next birthday so you won't have to save so long. That's what my kids do.

Dis I don't eat fast food or go to movies now I only just saw AVATAR two weeks ago because it was on HBO, I spent a little to buy the DVD and the game, but that was the first time I spent any of my own money (not given to me) on anything in a long time. <sigh> This whole SSI thing is a pain. I can't say I have a lot of sympathy for people who tell me I'm so lucky I don't work. I'm like: I'd be grateful to be able to work and earn a living. Even if I hated the actual job.

Sorry. I didn't realize things were quite that tight. Who manages your budget? Maybe there are some corners you can cut so you can save the money you need. You might try making a list of monthly expenditures to see if you can trim off a few dollars here and there. My older kids just moved out and we put them on a fixed allowance. They're still in school and that was the deal. We pay until they graduate and get a full time job. They are swiftly learning the benefits of cutting (and using) coupons and of shopping for bargains. I'm so proud of them. They get aggravated sometimes that we won't give them unlimited funds, but I did it when I was in college. I had a scholarship and a campus meal plan. My parents paid for books and gave me 50 dollars a month for spending money. Of course, that was 30 years ago. Things are a good deal more expensive these days. But budgeting is a valuable learning experience.

Warning! This is quite whine... Okay I love my family, they're great and I'm blessed. But when it comes to this fanfic thing they make me NUTS!

Mother: Nice hobby but you should be published you're too talented to only do fanfic. I've written things and only got published once I got 50$ but at least I tried. You'll do much better.

Father:Write something where you actually get paid. I have a talent for plumbing/customer service (the man works 2 jobs) you have a talent for writing, get paid!

Sister1: Gene Rodenberry and George Lucas are the visionaries you're just mooching, that doesn't take talent. You're capable, but you waste time on stuff that isn't original.

Other Siblings: No comment.

You know what, I'm sick of it. They have no clue how hard it is just to do what I do! And they all forget I do have original pieces too. It's not like pipes, put part A together with part B and sodder. Or conning people out of money for junk. And I'm not as good as they say I am! I'm no idiot, I know that I've got some major flaws in my work. At least Sister1 agrees with me there. But no they're on my back constantly. Now I've promised to find a writing contest to enter. I hope I lose, that way they'll all shut up!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

At least us two dumb biatches are dumb together, hey?

My family thinks all of that stuff. It's like I wrote that post.

I think it's a symptom of our frightened-like-rabbits, money-grubbing, middle-class based society:

"Don't ever ever "waste your time". Every single thing you do has to be for Money. So you'll be safe. And have enough hot dogs to eat. And *then*, when you're a millionaire from all your decades of sensible hard work, *then* (and only then) you may dabble in all the waste-of-time artsy eccentricities you want."

And I know this sounds insane but I was informed that I have to wait ANOTHER WEEK for the botox! I'M IN PAIN NOW!!!!!! Sorry. My week has been a not so good one, between my own body, family, and my BFF, I'm going to implode!

"dumb biatch" was ironical. Us biatches are smart like foxes.

Do any dentists in your area offer botox? Maybe you can sneak some that way?

I've been doing better about taking things literally, but that one slipped by. I need pain killers, the good stuff. But notice I admit I am one of these. :bitch:

Hi you know when you defrost something and you think everything is nice and unfrozen so you stick it in the oven only to discover things weren't quite thawed... This is my supper. :(

I've never really got the hang of ovens and things, but doesn't it generally get things super hot? And doesn't that generally mean they aren't frozen any more? So surely if you're trying to thaw something out, isn't an oven the very best place to put it? :dunno:

:rotflmao: Spoken like a man that doesn't really cook! No I'm not defrosting something in the oven. But I thought the sausage I put in the oven were thawed, turns out they were just a little too cold. So it's taking forever! My fridge is on the fritz everything is way too cold. So nothing defrosted properly.

Pah! I'll have you know I cooked a damned fine lasagna this evening. And yes, the top is supposed to be black like that.
