Darling you're my beta I think we both know that I can't spell. The truly scary thing is that I'm a better speller than anyone else in my family.

Yes but what will you do on such a vacation? Stare at the hotel room walls the whole time?
My fan fiction is in The Laundry Room.

Well I'm a world-class claustrophobic. So this vacation isn't my cup of tea.

How's this for random... I'm typing away working like a busy bee when my spell checker informs me that the word Smartphone must be capitalized in order to be correct.

This is how I know I am officially not young anymore I long for the days when you called a phone a phone! Now depending on what type of phone you're using you have an entire new vocabulary.

I'm stuck in this weird place, I'm a full fledged adult, but not quite in the big leagues. It's confusing.

The stray kitty we've adopted is in pon farr. (Yes, yes, I didn't get her spayed fast enough.)

It's not very dignified, that's for sure...

My sympathies I used to go through it with mine before I could afford it. I always felt like a terrible person because I couldn't tell who was suffering more her, or me!

I think we're very lucky, since she has more of a tribble-like trill than a meow (at least so far, knock wood). We're trying to distract her with as much chasing of the laser pointer or whatever as we can.

Meanwhile, our extremely geriatric neutered male has to be protected from her attentions. He's taken to growling routinely while making any passage across the house. But then he was doing that before, since she always wants to PLAY and the poor old boy has no play left in him at all.

It's so freakin' expensive to get a female cat fixed. No wonder there are strays everywhere. I know we can get a cheaper certificate, but her vet won't take it. That's part of the reason I was procrastinating this. Sigh.

At least your cat will play with the laser pointer. Mine used to just lay down and howl. The only thing that would sooth her was me petting her. It is incredibly expensive. But there might be some animal charity that would do it for less. We have one where I live.

Why have her "fixed" in the first place? Last time I checked, her current state was the normal one and the "fixing" damages her  I must admit that I was sort of lucky with little Masha. She was a slender thing to begin with. Three times she had the neighbors cat jump her bones and three times she had exactly one kitten. Of course it's a bit trickier if you have one of 'em ol' birth machines, who pump put 3 or 4 with every litter. The single kittens always found a very happy new owner. There was this little 11 y/o girl living two storeys above us. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and pretty much lost the will to live. When we gave her Masha's first kitten as a birthday present, she found new hope and went on to live another 4 years in as much happiness as the illness allowed her to. Sometimes these little fur-balls can be a real blessing.
