Bleah. I know I'm whining since according to the news it was apparently only 80 here (could have fooled me), but it's just such a shock to the system. I think a week of hauling and digging finally caught up with me. It was a nice spring break, though. No need to head south for the spring part of it.

It is a shock to the system! I was hoping for a bit of a spring but going from 40's to 80's is a pain literally! My body is in revolt.

Only up in the high 50's here but the pollen is killing me. I can hardly wait for our Guam trip next week.

There's nothing quite as frustrated as an OCD self-cleaner like our girl Penny with a plastic shield around her head.

So much for feeling groggy after surgery.

Awwwww poor baby. Mine just slept and looked at me with these big pathetic blue-silver eyes saying, "Mommy what did I do wrong!"

She's so tired she conks out periodically, but never for very long. The rest of the time she's trying to contort herself out of the hood thingie, compulsively licking the hood thingie, and playing with anything she can get her paws on, even though that isn't very easy. And, of course, she's trying to climb everything. Because jumping and bumping into things and occasionally falling is such a good thing to do with sutures in your belly... also twisting and turning in the struggle to get away from mommy when she tries to calm you down. Yes, it's all very good after surgery.

Anyway, I'm exhausted. I've locked her in the bathroom for the night, where there the climbing possibilities are fairly slim but she can still get water and litter. The only other option I can see is putting her back in the carrier. The bedroom just has too many heights and surfaces and plants to mess with as well.

Old kitty is perfectly happy with this arrangement, of course. No doubt he thinks he's earned this break from the crazy one.

Anyways. I just came back from our yearly beer bash at Witten



The fat Hippo had a lot of fun and after that unwanted visit by my parents a week ago nearly threw me back into depression, I really needed a bit of fun with the gang. It wasn't overly civilized and a lot of jokes that could make a trucker blush were exchanged, but we really had a blast

Yeah And the long-haired bomb layer standing behind me is Peter, the owner of the pimp mobile. The set of wheels in the background belongs to my Volvo V70. The car park looked pretty much like a convention of a mid-life crisis self-help group Peter with his Z4, several people with all kinds of BMW's, the doc brought his Corvette, Mike his ridiculously monstrous 500 bhp custom tuned Golf.
