I think the difference between those being that, with bulimia, the person binges food and then actually makes themself vomit. Not entirely postive about that, but it sounds like she should see a doctor ASAP. Easier said than done, though, I suppose.
Yup, you have one type of bulemia defined.
Anorexia is where you cut back on eating to an unhealthily low amount, Bulemia is where you binge (or eat normally, depending on the level) and then try to get rid of the calories by either purging (vomiting) or there are even cases of exercise bulemia, where you don't purge, you just exercise an insane amount. And lots of bulemics look to be a normal weight.
The problem with eating disorders is that it's really really hard to get someone to get treatment unless they want to (like anything else), and that there's usually an underlying reason-- control issues, problems in the rest of their life... I had a friend land herself in the hospital with liver failure from anorexia and had some personal issues with eating
(and exercise bulemia) throughout college and learned that nothing really changes peoples' minds unless they have to

.
Then again, I know some naturally slim-to-ultra thin people who are harassed because people think they have an eating disorder. That stinks, too.
