Re: The Whine thread.

Oh Ive gota couple "Whine's" saved up.

Purchased/tradedin on/Took out a loan on a new Tractor got it home, an the first day the dang thing shorted out some wires, an blew out a fuse. Well turns out the brilliant folks that put the thing together pinched some of the wires. Dealer was good enough to send out their top mechanic to find the problem,, Now ill just have to wait an see if their gona charge me for that.

Oh an the damn thing is made in Italy!!

Well disspite the fact that Im ticked the Tractor isnt made in the USofA, It dos run well,, So far. Could be worse I guess, the dang thing could of been built in China.

Maybe ist my country bumkin upbringin, but when ever I see a peice of farm equipment not made in the US, I cant help but think, "What the hell do they know about the farming conditions, habits, an needs here?!"
2nd Whine:
I hate August. I was glad to get some rain these past to weeks. 3"s an we needed it.
But the Normal August heat/humidity has arrived, an along with it our pastures have all been chewed down to the dirt, an now my cows are droppin in production. Very quickly.
Ive been chopping the "Nearly not there" hay in my hay fields tryin to get the cows to level off, But if all they do all day is lay around in the shade, they arnt gona make any more milk.
Hopefully Ill get some more rain. An that will cause the pastures to grow, an get the cows of their collective lazy arses.
TnT I love em.

Re: The Whine thread.
I just wrote up a loooooong whine that got deleted before I could post.
But the reader's digest version? Our neighbor's house caught on fire today, if my mom hadn't looked out the window when she did there would be nothing there and it would have caught to a few more of our houses (we live in a protected pine barrens area, so our yards are packed with trees). So, when she yelled, the adrenaline started rushing and my whole family mobilized, I called 911, my parents and sister ran to the house, guided the police (since I didn't know the exact address and because they're behind and at an angle to our house on a different street-- I ran back and forth on the street pointing them around the corner), the homeowner got home, saw my dad and sister yelling "fire" and "get out of the house" and evacuated his wife and kids (who had no idea their house was burning down, although we could smell the smoke and feel the fire all the way on our patio-- and we all have biiiig backyards), paniced about the possibility of it spreading to our home, I gashed my leg open in a fit of clumsiness to add to the mess, and paniced more as it did catch to a tree close to their home, and then watched the firefighters tear up the back of the house while putting out the fire.
Fortunately, the police and fire marshall told us (as they took our statement) that the damage was contained and the people's house was saved (thanks to my mom seeing the fire).
And then the adrenaline crashed. And I'm sitting here with my second set of band-aids (I soaked through the first since I'm a bleeder!), worn out and still shakey, and very thankful. We were very lucky tonight, since the fire was caught early. But I still think that deserved a whine!
(edited to add: For those who don't know, I "live" in two halves of my state. During the week, I live in an apartment near my work, but "home" is two hours south, where I and my cat spend our weekends and days off. This happened at "home")

Re: The Whine thread.
Oh.
Scary. I woke up at like 4am one night because of smoke, I have asthma so stuff like that always wakes me up and then I go to the restroom and look through the restroom window and see the bar like next to my building on fire.

Re: The Whine thread.
Not really a whine but a grrr... like I have to work on my computer outside after 10pm I'm not allowed to be in the room. So like I'm sitting outside now, same as yesterday and the day before and the day before etc. And well there's that stupid drunk guy, I think he's like at least in his 50's, 60's or something like that but could be that he's younger and just smokes a whole lot like pretty much everyone else here
, he's been here before and now he came back like a few days ago. And now he's like in the room right across from mine.
So like anyway ever since he's been back he always sees me outside working on my computer and every single time he goes like "it's that girl again, she's always on the computer what is she doing on her computer all the time, she's been sitting here for like 10 hours or something, why is she always on the computer" etc etc etc AS IF IT'S ANY OF HIS FRELLING BUSINESS OR PROBLEM OR WHATEVER.
Bringing all his roommates to try to like convince me to get off the computer and go with them to the bar or downstairs and drink with them. "Socializing". It's "better".
My big fat ass. Dunno about you but I just prefer to socialize with sober people. In a sober environment. Stupid ass "normality" and the frelling targ-dren it calls "standards".
Okay it's a whine now

Like it's not like every time I see him I go like, "oh here's that dude again, he's always drunk, what's he drinking for all the time, he's been drinking for like 10 hours or something, why is he always drinking"
what the frell is his problem.

Oh and another whine. The toilet in our bathroom is clogged
AND there's number 2 in it.

Re: The Whine thread.
Well, reading Mitchell's post has made me a little less irate about the increasing milk prices. Admittedly, I prefer the expensive variety which is $4.95, but even the cheaper varieties aren't very much less. And I love milk. I drink two gallons a week on average. It adds up.

Re: The Whine thread.
It's not like Mitchell and his co9lleagues are getting the extra money. I bet they are not getting much (if any) more for their product than they were last year. Rising gas prices are one reason everything is going up. It costs more to ship food to market. Rising labor costs are another.
But I doubt the farmer is seeing any benefit.

Re: The Whine thread.

Yeah what lil were getting of the price increase, is labled as a "Cost of production raise". Which ironicaly is just barely covering the increase in the price of fuel, if that. Ive just bout given up all hope on ever seeing a cost of production raise that will actualy help us to overcome the other ever increasin expences.
I still dont know how a Tractor Company can justify selling a 150hp 4X4 Tractor aimed at Dairy operations for $80,000 an up?

TnT I love em.

Re: The Whine thread.
Okay everyone, make sure that your immunizations are up to date, especially tetanus! There's nothing like double checking papers to find out that the immunization lapsed in 2002
and then having to go to work after getting the tetanus booster (and all of the fun side effects, like a sore arm, tiredness, crankiness, and a low grade fever!). I'm pretty sure that I was at low risk for tetanus from Saturday's cut, but had to get the shot anyway.
Also, if you think you need stitches, it might be a good idea to get them and not wait. My doc looked at the cut on my leg and said that I should have gotten stitches Saturday night and that's why I haven't stopped bleeding, but that there's nothing he can do at this point, so I'm stuck waiting for the wound to seal... and I can't exercise. Aaaahhh!
At least I had a great, dramatic story to tell at work. Too bad my cut was from my inherent clumsiness and not some dramatic, heroic action during the fire.

AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! Not the tetanus shot!!!
I hate needles
I've been dodging those tetanus shots since like 3rd grade!!! Don't wanna think how many immunization boosters I should catch up on

Re: The Whine thread.
Whine of the moment: stupid ass Obi and her frell buddies are smoking weed in one of the room, well obviously they're not supposed to smoke weed and like they're not supposed to smoke in rooms or on this floor at all, and their frelling smoke is getting out to the hallway where I'm sitting and I'm suffocating on their frelling weed smoke and the frelling window's broken and I can't open it!!!!!

Just look away when they give you a shot and think about something else. Besides the needles they give the shots are small. Now the needles they use when you are donating blood are big. I use to fear needles when I was little but got over it when I had to get a hole patched together in my arm(had a run in with a tree branch).
