It's a live action Disney cartoon. :dunno: If they like normal Disney cartoons there probably wouldn't be any difference in them liking a live-action version.

A couple of twelve-year old boys? Any chance you have twins? (Like me.)

No, that was my son and his friend. I just have the one and he's 13 now. We were lucky to get him.

I just watched: The Kite Runner

Very good movie! I'd have never seen it if I wasn't sick. It was LONG . . .

Highly recommended.

Watching: Bored out of my mind getting my roommates to watch the Lost pilot to try and catch up with me... but it's boring b/c I'm in late Season 2.

I swear this show gives me reasons for wanting to carry guns, knives, and MREs on planes

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Like Elessar needs more reasons to want guns. ;)

So yesterday we had an ADVENTURE!

The night before, I was griping about the police state town we live in (found out recently the mayor's been committed secretly 3 times for bipolar....makes SO much sense...but doesn't help us poor citizens).

And I was saying to Lee that I wanted to go north and live in the mountains where it'll take, y'know, a few more years for the condo builders to get that far. And see, while Canada has delightful and civilised cities like the US and everywhere else, you go 150 km north of almost any major city and you're in wilderness and narrow highways for 1000's o' clicks to the north pole. Yee hah!

So I go on Google Earth, and I find my town, and I drag the planet a few inches down and I see some delightful lumpy mountains about 150 km north, and there's a huge lake shaped just like the wee one we live on only 100 times bigger...and then I went on mls.ca and there are HOUSES for sale IN OUR PRICE RANGE all along the lake!!! AND it's right next to the only other place Lee could transfer to with his work. :O

All coincidentally, btw. I didn't know he could transfer there. And when I was looking at real estate pictures of the houses for sale....THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE had our exact same table and chairs! It was freaky weird.

So yesterday, we got in the car and drove up there and saw it, and it was SO CRAZY.

I have never seen a mountain sticking out of a lake like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRbqvJl5kDs

and the video is just my crappy cell phone, but wait till it pans left, and then this massive THING of rock just sticking into the sky! And we got a freak dusting of snow the night before, so it was all frosty and magical. The vid makes it look 5 times smaller than it really looked. It looked like it was BENDing over us! And there's CAVES! Big ones! Huge one with tours and everything!

Hmmmm. Maybe time to sell the police state house?

That was your plan, right? To buy houses and refurbish them and move on?

Well, we're not really "planny" people with any type of organisation or goals or anything. We just tend to fall maniacally in love with places and become possessed of an unrelenting desire to acquire them. And since we have no $, we have to sell a house to get the next one. It's a hassle, but if you can swing it, it's certainly a hella better way to make $ than working.

You realize that you are going to end up in the Klondike if you keep this up.
