This, I feel is a perfect time to bring up my favorite part of the movie: Uhura's slutty roommate.
Uhura always struck me as a girl who once suffered from a Slutty roommate problem. We've all (male and female) have put up with it once or twice but now this film, confirms what I always suspected: Uhura had a slutty roommate.

Honestly I couldn't decide who was the bigger slut, the Orian Babe, or Kirk. But I laughed when she said, "Jim I think I love you!" I just didn't expect an Orian woman to say that. It would have made more sense for Kirk to say it, humans say it and it's bull all the time.

That was such a great scene!

The look on his face when he said "How many men..." I was like Um Dude, Orian woman here, she's had more conquests than you ever dreamed. She's biologically hardwired to eat men alive. I wonder if Starfleet gives Orians hormones so the men they work with can not go loopy?

Probably pills, otherwise the bridge would look like Skinimax every time she walks in.

I don't think they use pills anymore, just hyposprays. But I can see the girl having to take something daily, it obviously didn't cramp her style much. Uhura was funny, I liked her.

I think it made a kind of sense really. She's an alien Woman evolved for sex and he's the biggest Man Whore in the Galaxy...sort of like Unstoppable Sex Addicted Force meets Immovable Slutty Object.
A hurricane of STD, you walk past their door and you might contract space herpes. I was afraid Uhura's skin might melt off.
I will say I liked how nice she was, she was very peppy and up beat. Genuinely a nice lady, slightly different from the "I will break you and make you like it" types were used to in Orinions.

I agree she was a nice intelligent girl. If you are a guy I think you might be the FIRST man I have ever "heard" call Kirk a "man-whore" most men I know just grin and say go man go. I wouldn't let him within ten lightyears of me.

Re: Star Trek: the new movie.
Oh I have always had "professional" respect for James T. Kirk but personally I can't stand the man. And I'm still trying to figure out what Spock, McCoy, and the others loved about him as a man. But nope James T. Kirk is not the man I'd choose. Toss up between the origional Scotty, and the New Checkov. But that makes me feel like a cougar. But God he was so adorable.

I'll agree to respect your views, not matter how wrong they are.

WarpGirl wrote:I FINALLY saw it and guess what I don't hate it. It IS an AU!!!!! It says so right in the movie, it doesn't invalidate any other Trek because alternate realites can co-exist.
The problem is it claims to start off in the RU and claims the AU was created by Nero traveling back in time and attacking the Kelvin. unfortunately that doesn't really explain any of the changes which were actually already in place when Narda attacked.
Every true Trek fan knows this, and the RU still exists.
I know it's an AU like the MU, but no one ever tried to remake the franchise to only ever exist there. And really the AU was just an attempt to placate old fans and so they could try to avoid the "reboot" label.
I don't see why people are mourning the RU though, it isn't gone.
It is in that it is unlikely to ever be added to again.

Abrams probably didn't know about the whole pheromones thing, would be my guess.

OR Kirk was just being a typical male, and an idiot. As for the rest. Whatever, re-boot or not this AU can exist simultaniously with our RU. If that doesn't get added too oh well, but it isn't invalidated.
