Happy birthday, Distracted and Evcake!
I remember well that I from my 15 years (maybe slightly before) started to see that holiday as a chance to celebrate new inventory of the memorable events and impressions which made my life richer. Many of my peers are looking at it as a sad reminder but for me my birthday and the birthdays of my friends are the best holidays.
Many happy returns of the day! I hope you would use my example and celebrate that day few weeks in the different companies of the family and friends!
I wish you the exceptionally good health and the sharp eye aimed at the positive sides of the life.
And many thanks for your nice writing as both the big novels of Dis and the excellent short stories of Evcake!

Take yer pick. We got the 11 year old who thinks she's 18 (especially now that she's got unlimited texting). We got the 17 year old who thinks she's 21 (but who, thankfully, has finally come to her senses and decided not to move to New Orleans the very second she turns 18... mainly because we bribed her with a puppy and the UNO dorm doesn't allow pets 
). And we got the 23 year old who still thinks he's 16 (because he's still living upstairs and spending half the day and night online playing World of Warcraft... but he's moving out in January! Maybe).
Our adventures in dealing with teenagers will never end! (Or maybe they just seem endless.
