Thank you, enterprikayak, for this memorable vid!
I have a question. Didn't this video used to have music? Not that it isn't wonderful as is. I remember "Faith of the Heart" playing in the background.
I have the downloaded in that time mpeg-file with audio. There were two additional songs (besides "Faith of the Heart"): "Time of Your Life" by Greenday and "Bout of Bad Luck" by dayinTheLife. Maybe YouTube had the pretensions for copyright infringement on the audio track?

It did. It got CensorTubed. Back in the "old" days, b4 they just started adding an iTunes commercial to the bottom of your vid. I like the iTunes thing better. I'm happy to see an end to censorship, and I'm happy to advertise for good songs.

Re: Happy 3 Year Anniversary, TriS!
Those itunes things get a little confusing when there's more than one song attached to a video, though, unless you know what's what. I totally agree that it's a great concept, however.
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

That's actually really smart, because I'm sure there are a lot of people like me out there who have iTunes accounts, and if I like the song, I'd very likely buy it if it was just a click away like that.

Re: Happy 3 Year Anniversary, TriS!
exactly.
How a fan vid made for no money is suppoed to be "infringement" i don't know...I feel fan art is merely a way to more deeply enjoy the medium you're using to make it. and every bit of fan art is a commercial for the subject of the art....it's all good stuff and it builds upon itself, like human art always does, and there shouldn't be oppression of that.
And it's also awesome to be able to help the band or whatever in question get purchased on iTunes, cause frankly, THAT'S the only way artists are staying in business. The internet has changed everything, and we just have to wait for, like, the lawyers to catch up. The courts spent the last 10 years trying (in total vain) to enforce the copyright laws of the 20th century. Maybe this decade they'll come up with some new useful, real-life copyright laws that we can all respect and follow.
Youtube is totally awesome in that respect: promoting the purchase of things enjoyed for free and simultaneously promoting freedom of creation. (This isn't to say YT doesn't completely piss me off a lot of the time too, but, credit where credit is due.)

Re: Happy 3 Year Anniversary, TriS!
Well, that's always been my thing: fanfic and fan art and fan vids help to generate interest and enthusiasm for the subject being "fanned." Fans who are interested and enthusiastic spend more money on the official stuff. In the case of fanvids, you have fans who are now also being exposed to songs and artists they may not otherwise have encountered, which they may decide is pretty neat and want to buy, even if only because of another fan's drawing a connection between the song and the pairing/character/fandom in question. To get all freaked out about something like that when no money is being made is just ridiculous, seeing as it's nothing more than FREE PUBLICITY.

Re: Happy 3 Year Anniversary, TriS!
You are right. I am frequently buying the CD after hearing the artist in fanmixes, fanvideo or after suggesting at BBS that some song may remind of TnT, for example. I bought thus CD by Daughtry after JadziaKathryn's suggestion. And I am very liked it. I bought CD of B!Machine after viewing TnT video "Door Inside A Door" by vidder ViperaLLAP2U. And I bought many other discs.
Re: Happy 3 Year Anniversary, TriS!
Y'know, maybe we should all exchange TnT playlists!
