I might have to check that out... you ever seen one called Death Note? It just ended in Japan... I guess it's one of the most popular animes to hit the US while being broadcast in Japan. It's a big hit in China too, apparently.

Netflix doesn't have Death Note yet - I'm still waiting. :) I noticed halfway through that Whisper of the Heart is the first appearance of the Cat in The Cat Returns. It has that distinctly Studio Ghibli "Totoro" touch.

I like anime a lot, manga not so much. Funny - I like comic strips, but not comic books.

Just finished reading: Eclipse, book 3 of the Twillight series by Stephenie Meyer. Absolutely wonderful. Vampires and werewolves-- yay!

Watching: So You Think You Can Dance season finale. Cat Deeley is wearing the most butt-ugly dress I have ever seen.

Eating: Campbell's butternut squash soup-- yum. For those of you who were at Cherry Hill (and especially those who visited the Battleship NJ) you passed the home of Campbell's Soup!

And trying not to scratch at my cut (which is still bleeding, 5 days later. eeew.)

No kiddin! ISn't it crazy how many car wrecks he gets into? I think it's funny because in every other action movie I've ever watched, a big car accident is the end of a chase... it ends in a gun stand off. But what I like about Bourne is that he actually takes a tactical position when he's about to get into an accident, like he knows the best places to be in and the best positions to be in, in a car when you hit something, to maximize chances of not sustaining a serious injury.

I'm not reading or watching anything :(

I'm on page 166 of TGTMD tho, lol

I was In Jackson Wyoming watching the Highland games and just got home awhile ago. What I'm reading Dominion war Ds9 Book 2 It's a great read and gives more in depth storylines between the season 6 episodes it gives you more behind the scenes intrigue and spy missions behind Dominion lines. Sisko & martok talking baout how the Dominion found about their plans about Starfleet's Seventh and attacked and nearly destroyed all their ships. They want to catch the spies.

The Wisconsin Highland games are coming up in early September, but I don't think I will be making them as the yacht club where I keep my boat , "the working man's yacht club" with trestle tables instead of nice dining room tables, is closing out the season with several dinners. We have to do 50 hours of work at the club each year as part of our membership. Labor Day weekend at the yacht club there are three dinners going on: pig roast, lassanga diner, steak dinner - one each night. So I will be helping with serving and clean up to get my hours in!

My boat is now a Coast Guard Auxiliary facility and on its first 'training patrol' we had a case right as we left the break water. Not much of a case though, only loaned them a paddle. It was a small boat with engine trouble and needed an extra paddle to maneuver back to their slip. Funny, we got the paddle because 'alternative propulsion' is required for a CG facility and the paddle satisfied that requirement. We were laughing at the fact that a paddle would not move our 26' cabin cruiser should WE have engine trouble, we would require a tow. But the paddle sure came in handy for this other boat.

Then we practiced man overboard drills. I had the helm as I am in coxswain training. It took several passes to come right along side that fender we threw overboard to practice with, at clutch speed, engine in neutral. You can't see anything small like a fender or a Human in the water next to the boat because of the flare of the bow. You have to depend on your crewperson hanging over the rail on the bow to tell you how close the victim is. The person hanging over the rail on the bow used to be me. Ah for those simpler days of a simple crewman!

I am reading what is supposed to be a very good Romulan book called 'The Final Reflection'. It has a lot of Klingon culture stuff, if anyone is interested in that.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Sorry that was a Klingon book, not a Romulan book. There are Romulans in it though. But this is from the Klingon viewpoint, mostly, so the Roms don't shine much.
