Archer---Kirk
T'Pol---Spock or Jadzia Dax
Trip---Scotty
Travis---Sulu or Tom Paris
Hoshi---Uhura
Malcolm---Worf, maybe? Bashir? (w/the Section 31 thing?)
Phlox---McCoy

(And I think Travis would've done well in Gryffindor).

Okay, what's on:

1)Malcolm's bookshelf?
2)Archer's bookshelf?
3)Trip's bookshelf?

The technical explanation of Slytherin and the way it worked out in the HP series in the 'real time' of our main characters are not exactly the same. MAYBE I can see Malcolm there (though I have to confess I don't really buy him as a section 31 spy either). Not Hayes. I'd put Hayes in Griffindor. For that matter, I'd probably stick Trip there too. But as they say, your mileage may vary. I'm not an HP expert in any case.

1) For some reason I could easily picture him enjoying some excellent detective stories like Hercule Poirot. I could see Malcolm as a collector of several series so that he has all the books from that series.

2)Captain Archer I can't picture being a great reader so I think his bookself would have few books he has gotten as a gift and maybe some popular books that many people would consider must to read books and some non fiction books about some topics he is interested about.

3)As Trip reminds me about my own hubby, someone who doesn't at first glance look like it, but still has lots of books and different books from comics and scifi to all kinds of interesting non-fiction books.

Since I've been around so little recently I'm sorry if my question has been asked before.

If T'Pol and Trip would have some hobby together what would it be?

I could imagine the two of them enjoying gardening. Or hiking and camping.

Let's have more answers, though. Especially since I can't think of a good question...

That hiking and camping got my imagination going warp speed again. I like those myself and if I can find time some day to write a story again there are few ideas of places for Trip and T'Pol to go do some hiking.

I can see being in the outdoors (hiking, camping). They'd probably enjoy a jazz club too, like the one in San Francisco that T'Pol went to...I can see Trip kicking back and relaxing there. Although Trip is a scuba diver and sails boats, I don't see T'Pol enjoying that as much.

Okay, same kinda question for Hoshi and Malcolm. What kinds of activities do you see them doing together? (Let's keep in PG-rated. )

Well, golly. It's been days and no response to this one. Not sure what that says about Malcolm's ability to have PG-rated hobbies. Any hobbies I see them doing, I really picture Hoshi wanting to do them and Malcolm tagging along under duress. Like...ummm...hmph. :banghead:

How about sailing? I could see Malcolm enjoying some sailing with Hoshi. Of course, he'd have ten different kinds of "accident recovery plans." They could drop anchor in a lagoon with a friendly little cave, have a wee picnic, some extra-curricular activities, then back in the boat.

Q: If T'Pol and Trip were chosen to infiltrate the Romulans together, what would their cover story be and how would they pull it off? This question is unrelated to the novels The Good That Men Do and Kobayashi Maru.

This question is difficult.
The first thing that occurs to my mind is that surely they couldn't infiltrate the Romulans together as Mr and Mrs Smith.
Joking a part, may you give us a tiny bit more of informations?
Do you mean as two spies or something else?
Do they have to investigate something specific or is it a matter of general reconnaissance?
Are you thinking by chance of a special mission?
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

SAILING?!! But Malcolm's terrified of water! Maybe hiking or rock climbing instead...or martial arts. That reminds me of a story I need to submit to The Bridge.

Hmmm. With Trip's help to loosen T'Pol up a little, T'Pol's help with espionage skills, and a little plastic surgery I think they could pass for a Romulan couple. They could be merchants and set up shop on a Romulan fringe world. I personally think it would work better to send T'Pol undercover, though, since she's biologically much more like a Romulan and has the training, and use the bond for her to send info to Trip, who stays in the space equivalent of the surveillance van watching over her, maintaining the tech stuff and transmitting useful info to Starfleet. Of course, that would actually make SENSE.

Q: How else would you change some of the real boners the writers came up with so that they made sense? Any series. Describe the stupidity first, since some of us may be unaware of it.

A: Hmmm...let's see. For Enterprise:
1) T'Pol's Trellium addiction...Maybe an insidious Xindi or Terra Prime plot? Or maybe some Vulcan/Romulan attempt to screw up the senior staff's effectiveness. :vulcan: :dunno: Okay, I'm stretching here.

2) Hoshi's sudden black belt in aikido. Show some scenes with her in the gym w/Malcolm and/or the MACOs. Maybe even have her teach a class or give an exhibition.

3)Archer's blatant disregard for security. Again, maybe an insiduous plot (mind-control?) to compromise Enterprise's security. Have it be more and more ridiculous before Malcolm has to step in and stop it.

4)Speaking of Malcolm...the Section 31 thing. Either rewrite his character or not put him in S31 at all. In the series, he's a bit too soft-hearted to be an S31 agent.

5) TnT's on-again, off-again relationship. I HATE how it was handled, esp. the "morning after" in Harbinger. Can we knock some sense into T'Pol?? I'd rewrite the relationship so it's not like "We got bonded after one night together" and explore it a bit more. (Um...like my Switcheroo series. )

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier:
Almost the whole movie. Kirk challenges God...and wins. :wtf: :banghead: The only thing I liked was when Scotty broke the guys out of jail...and I think the thing I hated the most was when Scotty banged his head on the overhead beam after saying he "knew the ship like the back of his hand." Chuck the God storyline out the airlock. (Can you tell I'm not a fan of this movie?)

Star Trek III and Generations:
Starfleet promoting idiots as captains. Example: Captain Styles for Excelsior and Captain Harriman for Enterprise-B. Cripes sake, Styles carried around a swizzle stick and Harriman was praying for Tuesday! I'd give both ships actual competent captains...it would've made the chase between Excelsior and Enterprise more interesting, at least (in ST III)

Okay, I'm letting the question stand because I'm interested in what other boners that can be rewritten.

???

The Bridge?

Anyway, the list of boners is endless. There is a plentitude of richness to choose from.

-- The whole baby Elizabeth thing. What kind of fool would think that the sight of a cute little baby girl, a *sick* little baby girl, would provoke repulsion and anger in Humans? What was everyone's reaction when they saw her. really? It was "aww, she's so sweet..." wasn't it? And when we realized she was dying it was, "Oh no! Paxton you bastard!"

The whole premise is stupid. It was a ham handed excuse to insert a hybrid baby into the plot and then kill her off for angst sake. Any writer on this site could have done better if they were stoned blind on morphine.

Someone wrote a really great story about that, actually. The downside is that it ends up being T/R slash. But up until that - wow, it was impressive. Interference

Chakotay - If you are going to base the premise of your entire series on a Starfleet and a Maquis ship being stranded in the Delta Quadrant then have to join together as one crew (following Starfleet principles) and you need the First Officer to be Maquis.....then make him a real Maquis. Not some pansy-archeological-theological wooden mamby-pamby. Give him some oomph!

Borg children - :vulcan: Really? Not sure how I'd fix that one. I never would have bait that hook in the first place. You could have turned it into a Borg-ep without the kiddies.

TOS: The Devil In the Dark - the Horta - Ummm...no. That episode would have been interesting if a mean, recurring villain were terrorizing the miners. The whole silicone-based-lifeform-protecting-the-babies-thing was a cop-out.

Worf/Troi relationship - Never like it. Though Riker was no better, at least they didn't turn that relationship into actual substance until ST: Insurrection. I would have skipped the Worf-love completely and left the rest the way it unfolded.

Saavik - I've mentioned previously how much I hate what TPTB did to her character. I would have sent her on the mission to the past in ST IV: The Voyage Home, then brought her into TNG as a regular Starfleet officer.

And I'm going to second Lady R on the TnT angst. It was too over-done. I could have been ok with the episode Home if they had allowed the two to get together after Koss released her in Kir'Shara.

I think Dis's question is brilliant and BnB is correct. The list is plentiful. I'd like to see some more examples. Maybe somebody will snare a plot bunny!
