Oooh, Herriot's books are fantastic! I always liked All Creatures Great and Small best of his trilogy - reading them I laughed and laughed.

Starting: Terry Pratchett's newest, Making Money

Yes, Herriot's books are great. I liked the PBS series a lot too.

I'm reading Lies My Teacher Told Me. Elessar liked it and another person recommended it, so I took it out of the library. I'm really enjoying this book. I'm not an Americanist so a lot of this stuff is news to me even as a history grad student. Woodrow Wilson was wildly white supremisist. Less of the stuff on Columbus was a surprise, but not all of it. Wow. Just incredible.

The biggest surprise to me was the 'sending troops into Russia during the Revolution' thing.

I'm also finally finishing The Good That Men Do very soon. I'm on page... 400 somethin. Close to the end. Loving it. Really really really awaiting the next one because we still don't know if "future Trip" went back and got with T'Pol. It would only make sense, I mean, C'mon. They have bond-sex. They kiss in person. He lives as long as a Romulan. It's IN THE CARDS!! :)

I hope!
But I hope this because there aren't other ways!
I don't like this book.
Wanton angst! :-x  :( :x :-x
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I haven't read it. Frankly, I don't especially want to. I am very happy with my own version of TnT and the versions I read here. The premise sounded like a stretch (I know, *the_abomination* and that junk - it's so much easier to just ignore it!) and I'm against, as Asso termed it, wanton angst.

But I'm relly enjoying Lies My Teacher Told Me. He should do a sequel.

I still also have yet to actually read TGTMD. I have owned the book for a while but getting thoroughly spoiled by the story I find I'm in no actual hurry to read it.

In fact, yesterday I started on part 2 A Clash of Kings in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice fantasy saga.

Don't own TGTMD. Don't intend to read it until AFTER I decide whether I'm gonna write an alternate finale fix to the one I already wrote that most of you hated. If I write one, I want it to be original. (Or at least as original as one can get writing about someone else's characters in someone else's fictional universe. :? )

I like George R.R. Martin's stuff, though. 8)

I have in my mind a challenge.
I am trying with my stories to move the goalposts.
I would want that things are growing along the Canon (placing in the Canon - alas- also "The Good That Men Do"), but in the same time towards a specific and clear aim:

1.Trip obviously is alive.
2. He and T'Pol are together right from Elizabeth death ( I mean in steady way and definitively, because they heretofore were dancing the one around the other).

All these things in swindling the wanton angst.

Does this be possible?
I think yes (or, better, I hope).
My first effort (Ulysses) did want to be precisely that (even if it maybe was not much evident) and the following Fics are moving along this way, because, in actual fact, we know anything of what happened between the last scene of what I consider the real final and "the Abomination".

Well, perhaps I am trying of do something too much ambitious, I know. But in my opinion the game is worth the candle and then "PER ASPERA AD ASTRA" or, as Dante says, "YOU DON'T BE BORN TO LIVE AS BRUTES, BUT TO FOLLOW VIRTUE AND KNOWLEDGE".
:D :D :D
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
