Um...unfinished. Unfortunately. I need some motivation to finish it. Along with the 4 or so other fics I haven't finished yet. Plus I'm participating in the SGA Big Bang Write-a-thon on LiveJournal this year.

And yeah, I thought Vala/Daniel's ship was like What the heck was that?!

Consider yourself motivated, please. I'd love some Shran/Talas fic, they were too awsome. You're right about Daniel/Vala, don't get me wrong I LIKE Vala. But come on Daniel was NEVER attracted to a woman like that EVER. Not even when he had multiple personalities, taken over by alien entities, acsended, dead, alive, or otherwise. Besides she and Mitchell always looked like they were ready to burst at any given moment. Could have been a Fascape holdover, but really they could not stop with the eyes.

I never say Daniel truly madly deeply with anyone but Sha're and they killed her off because they were actually involved and broke up. What really made me think this is wierd was when Mitchell was interested in the Doctor, but the Doctor was married to Daniel in real life. Wierd much?

OK, I have a question for you obsessive 'shippers, or rather the kind of people who 'ship for couples that are not in canon, that is persons that aren't together or even on the path of ever becoming together on the show proper.

The question is simply: WHY?

I cannot for the life of me understand it. Why 'ship for a pair that's not just doomed, but that was never a pair to begin with? If there hasn't been any inclination of two people being romantically interested in each other, why 'ship for them? It defies comprehension. This is what someone called "crack 'ships".

For me, it's more the "What if?" and just seeing how different personalities can go together in different ways. It makes for some interesting stories. Granted, some pairings seem to be more supported in the shows like others (like TnT), but they do add a different angle to how everyone relates to one another.

I'm not an obsessive shipper, (but TnT and Reed/Sato come close), but I do know people who are rabid about their OTP (One True Pair) and everyone else is WRONG and they feel like they need to defend their thinking at all costs. Even to the point where they have full-fledged arguments with others about it. I just don't get that.

I may not agree with some peoples' interpretations of some relationships, but they're all entitled to their opinion.

Well for me sometimes I just can't see where the writers think that a canon relationship is healthy. For example, CSI Las Vegas lost me with Grissom/Sara. HELLO! That was one of the most unhealthy relationships I have EVER seen. Um he treats her like the forbidden fruit, rejects her, flaunts a few very odd affairs in her face, admits he supposedly loves her but will NEVER do anything. This was touted as ultimate true love!!!!! And that's just Grissom's side, Sara is at first worshipfull, then self-destructive, then clinically depressed and self-destructive... Then they finally get together but nobody not even the audience is clued in for god knows how long. Then Sara is kidnapped, recovers, get's engaged, then splits. And it takes Warrick dying for HER to come back for a little while, and longer for Grissom to go after her.

Please tell me where this is true love of devoted soulmates? Not even Heathcliff and Cathy were this screwed up. At least they knew exactly what was going on and were honest about being sickly in love. So yeah I ship for Nick/Sara, they had amazing chemistry and their "shipper title" isn't the abbreviation for Gun Shot Residue! Sometimes producers <cough> William Peterson <cough> are WRONG!

Well, I can see that some canon 'ships could be wrong and unhealthy and even implausible. That's not my question, though. Or is that the reason you 'ship for another pairing, so you'll have an alternative to the wrong-ness of the canon 'ship?

No that's the reason. Grissom/Sara is a mental health wreck waiting to happen. And the kicker is they're screwed up separately ENOUGH! Besides Jorja Fox and George Eads both stated publically that they wanted their characters to end up in a serious relationship. They got fake fired for it too. Actually I don't really "crack ship" much, well... Malcolm and Hoshi counts I guess. Sam and Ainsely, I'm not sure because they hinted that the MIGHT have dated in The West Wing. But that's it.

PS. I didn't just pick the guy I thought was the HOTTEST! Although he was... But I honestly picked because of chemistry, personality, and balanced psyches. Greg was too "young," Warrick Well... NOT Sara's Type. But Nick was a perfect balance.

Please tell me you're joking! Um Okay maybe you're not... This is so easy to explain it's hard. Well I guess the two easiest episodes to reference are the famous T and Jack do the time-loop, and the Tok'ra lie detector episodes. I'm too tired to look up the titles. In T and Jack do the time-loop, Jack resigns his comission to kiss Samantha. Now he knew that the loop would re-start and nobody but him and T would remember a darn thing. But he still resigned because to kiss her without that would have been dishonerable to HER career. A man doesn't do that if it isn't love, he would have just NOT kissed her. During the Tok'ra lie detector episode they use every word but love to admit their feelings, again due to court-marshall worries. BUT it was clear.

Not to mention the fact that the only times they weren't married, engaged, or dating in an AU or a PU was one was either dead or Sam was miserable, with someone evil, and going back to Jack anyway. The crazy McCay verse DOESN'T COUNT! In sci-fi speak they're meant for each other. HECK even Thore and the Nox say so. You don't mess with them. Besides, have you seen the way they kiss?????

That works too! I can't believe they goof off like that FOR YEARS on screen and off, and still nothing on the show. Richard Dean Anderson is a sadist, after all he's a producer. He wants Jack and Sam together... WHY aren't they TOGETHER?

Not joking. I've seen those episodes, and I get it... but I just don't know. I'm pretty ambivalent about the pairing. What's with Thor and the Nox? (Is it a season 7-10 ep? Haven't seen those yet)
