That's awesome, always good to see a talented and motivated new generation of scientists that I know will be pushing the envelope in graduate school when I'm an old geezer... building me a holgraphic hip replacement :D

Congratulations! :happyjump: Since I was born without a science gene, I'm always very impressed by people who understand all that stuff. It sounds like your son has a long and very successful career ahead of him.

Thanks everyone! That third award he got for $30 was from a company called Black Mesa Scientific and was for the method he used in his project. Now that Dylan is back home, we have to get his head out of the clouds and concentrating on the everyday homework, which matters too. (I am talking too much like a mom or grandma here, eh?) I have been trying to make a Star Trek fan out of him. He liked the first two episodes of Enterprise but has not watched more of them, darn. Oh, he does think T'Pol is hot! What red blooded male wouldn't? And of course the green blooded males would too, I would think. 8)

:) I'm so happy for you guys.

Guess what? It's only athletics, not scientific progress, BUT that soccer tournament I couldn't go to because I was sick? My son Paris's team won the tournament! AND he was voted a team captain by his peers. (There are 3 captains.) He's a midfielder, usually a side midfielder, sometimes center. He's a wonderful boy. Very unselfish, which is important for a midfielder. Very easy to get along with. Maybe it's because he's a twin.

(And no, the other twin doesn't currently play soccer, but he could if he wanted to.)

Way to Go Paris!

A week of accomplishment for our kids!

The best I've got is my 16 month old nephew, who lives 6 hours away in Atlanta and has only seen me 5 times in his life, knows who I am! You ask him, "where's Aunt Kim" and he points to me! Not a major achievement, but I'm thrilled. :D Ya see, he's not my *real* nephew - just my best friends baby, and I have no siblings. So I'll take what I can get.

Best friends kids are just like family, for me too. Mine is my godson. And it was quite a thrill when he said my name, they live really far now.

That's great about Paris, JT! But what a bummer to miss the game because you are sick.

Adopted aunties are the best! Sounds like he has bonded to you, Aunt Kim!
