Seriously, that's how the business works anymore. The ones with the money to do it want as much return they can get with as little investment as possible, and that means they'd rather go with something they know worked for someone else instead of something new. I mean, just look at all the prequels that came out after Star Wars Episode I. Even Tremors had one, and Star Trek had one in the form of Enterprise. The idea Berman had for the next movie was a prequel too. And now that BSG and Batman have proven that reboots can be successful, everyone else is going to try the same thing. Hell, if this next movie does prove to be a reboot, I guess in a way its a case of Paramount putting their chips in with both prequels and reboots. I mean, how much better to make money than to go with two things that have worked for other people, right? At least that's the kind of reasoning I can see going into this, and that's why I'm more than a little worried that Moriarty will be proven right.
