So, so true! This happened to me with my mother because it has always been so difficult for me to express myself verbally that way...and then she was gone. It is something that still haunts me, even nearly 15 years later. Everyone deserves to know that they are appreciated. Don't let it go unsaid.

Then you are well on the road toward becoming a misanthrope, Grasshopper. I cannot teach you anything further...

If you can't be involved with anyone else, you might as well be self-involved... Love yourself :D

What an interesting conversation! I agree with justrip'n in that I would not have the energy to raise another kid. But Distracted was in extremely good shape (great body) last time I saw her - at the convention over a year ago - so maybe she has a lot of energy! And I'll bet, a lot of love! (I hope this is not getting too personal, no offense intended).

And I guess there is the abstract kind of love. You know - caring about the whole planet. That is why I make the sorts of donations I do, and why I give blood. I am greatful for all the close personal relationships in my life - that is the intimate kind of love. And I sure hope those who have expressed missanthropic leanings here find their soul mates. With all due respect, I'll bet it would change their outlooks! I wish them well.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Yes, another child would be tiring. I just sent my youngest off to kindergarden last week and she's already getting beaten up on the school bus. She came home crying yesterday because another girl was pulling her hair and hitting her. :( She was upset about that, but also upset because now the other girl "won't be my friend." Sigh. It's emotionally and physically draining, but well worth it. I think I'm all set with three, though.

I have a son with misanthropic tendencies. It's a tad depressing to see at such a young age. :?

Ah poor thing!

She sounds kinda like me at her age.

Hell, I still get bummed out when someone is being a meanie to me.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?
