In the last photo above, Dylan is the boy with the bandage on his nose. He had broken it. Skyelar is the little redhead in the jingle dress next to him.

CX, can I borrow your photo? Got some people I'd like to run that by and watch their expressions when I tell them this is my other boat!

Sure, it's not really mine though, I found it on kontraband.com or somethingaweful.com or something like that.

So that's the legendary boat that consumes your passions so intensely? Nice little canoe, I must say. Although I wouldn't agree to be out in that thing in the middle of a Great Lakes windstorm for love or money. Not on a bet, I wouldn't. But she is a pretty craft. Nicely spiffed up too. :)

The youngun's are cute too.

I got 5 photos out of Photobucket! That is a new record for me.

A fine record!
Considering the photos, I hope you will go beyond it. :D
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I might put up more photos later, but I don't want to test Photobucket's tolerance of me again just yet. As to the boat's ability to take seas, she's been out in high winds and waves 10 to 20 feet. Hey, I LIKE getting tossed around by those waves - kinda like a VERY rough amusement park ride lasting for hours. Course, sore muscles protest the next day, ha, ha. But with 10' beam, she's actually a very stable search and rescue platform, better than a lot of boats I have been on. She has lots of hand rails to hold on to as you are working around on the deck. As the old saying goes "the boat will take better care of you than you do of the boat". I've known the last two owners of the boat, both Auxiliarists.

Although it is kinda just a hobby - we don't get paid cept for meals at the C.G. station and some equipment and the thanks of people we pull off the lake, it is a long term endeavor - 17 years as crew for me, and 28 for Jim. But this is the first year of boat ownership for me. A new adventure was 'parking it' in the narrow slip between the dock and our neigboring boat. Jim had an old fish tug before I met him, which he spent so much time and money on fixing up, he grew tired of it and sold it before he ever had any fun with it! He didn't want this one (at first), but I kinda twisted his arm and now he really likes the boat. The two older grandkids climb all over the boat, even in rough weather. My rule is they wear lifejackets at all times on deck. They love fishing and 'boat sleeping'.

Ok, one more session with photobucket and I'm done for awhile.

Boat toys at the helm of our boat - electronic used on patrol: RDF (radio direction finder), a couple of marine radios, LORAN unit, depth sounder, radar, and there is (unshown) a spotlight and loud hailer.

Stuff we do. This is at the experimental air show where we patrol the sea plane landing zone.

Here's a boat I'd like to own - a flying boat! Actually just buying it would be a mega black hole, let alone the upkeep. I will just admire it from a distance.

More grandkid stuff - Image in a tree outside a second floor window at my house

Wonderful grandkid pictures. How I'd love to climb a tree again, in my barefeet! Fun to watch them do it!

I would love to be *able* to climb a tree again. As to actually doing it... nah.
