Then you are in error, sir, and I am more than a little insulted at your implication that I am less than honest as I have gone on record as stating that I have read this book.
I had a long reply to your various statements wherein I defended my assertions, but frankly it's not worth my time to go over this nonsense again, especially if I'm going to accused by the board owner of being a liar over a fraking book. I'm gone.

Doesn't seem all that long ago everyone was talking about all the things they got wrong in the book that was supposed to have been referenced from the series.

You asked me to correct you - and here I am correcting you. I never called him a liar. That's why it doesn't break my rules.
That's not the only thing I'm sick of either. I'm getting sick of people throwing their arms up in the air and leaving because of one or two jerks who rub them the wrong way, or say the wrong thing, or whatever. This is the internet, there will always be some jerk, and you either have to ignore them or find some other way to deal with them. Would you move out of town because the guy down the block is an asshole? Same kind of thing. This is a community, and it sucks to see it getting torn apart because a few people don't entirely get along with a few other people, because we're losing some of the best and brightest that we have in this community.

Re: Books
Calm down now, please!
Would want you all to play such dirty a tick on me, by any chance?
I have at last found something beautiful and am I going to lose this in this way?
Calm down now, you all, please!

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I had a long reply to your various statements wherein I defended my assertions, but frankly it's not worth my time to go over this nonsense again, especially if I'm going to accused by the board owner of being a liar over a fraking book. I'm gone.
Rigil, to start you conclude your remarks about the book with this blanket defensive 'but I'm sure I'll just accused of bashing', and then I reply to your remarks with my 'user hat' on and not my admin hat, and you have to find something wrong with it. First of all, you never actually said you read the whole book, so I'm not calling you a liar, you just remarked about the book.
Secondly, I have pretty good reason to believe you would comment disparagingly about the book without having actually read the whole thing because that's exactly what you did when you read Telluride. There was proof of it in the discussions following... you criticized the way T'Pol "jumped on Jack" and I reminded you that several months/year+ had gone by before they even kissed and I distinctly remember you saying that you didn't actually read the whole thing after the early parts pissed you off, and that you skimmed it. So I'm not exactly out of line in predicting that you did the same thing with TGTMD. Like I said, I did no such thing as calling you a liar, because you never said "I read the whole thing and I thought it was crap." If you're saying now that you read it, fine. But my contrary opinion of the book remains.
The reality here is Rigil that I didn't call you a liar, I just disagreed with you and, yes, made the comment that I doubted you read the whole book, because of how off-base I considered your assertions to be. But I didn't call you a liar.
Edit: If you actually stated earlier that you read it, then you know what, I'm big enough to say I hadn't seen that, and I'm sorry for the implication that I was calling you a liar. If you don't want to believe me, fine, but why I would call you a liar and then back down and say I wasn't calling you a liar I have no clue. This doesn't need to be made bigger than it is -- I said something without knowing you had specifically said you read the whole thing. That's all there is to it, and unless somebody WANTS to stir the pot and make things worse, I don't see the point in arguing about it any further.

Don't worry Asso. This happens with someone or the other approximately every 61.4 days around here. It's a natural part of the functioning trekOrganism. It comes of us all being such clever, yet narrowly focussed, opinioned geeks.

I've been pissed as anything at many on this board here and there once or twice. It's been
mutual I'm sure. And yet I'm still here. I don't mind.
But that's just cause I'm so much smarter than all of you.

Good!
But (eh, eh, eh, he!
) I believe T'Pol have chosen her path immediately after her hand had been tangled with Trip's hand!

I think...and I'll probably get flamed for saying so but oh well...that this analogy CX said is fair.
Example....I really dislike my neighbor John (true story) he is a grouchy old man who makes all of us (meaning the whole block) avoid him like the plague.
But I deal with him because I like my house...too be fair I might not like Maryland...but I like my house.
Same thing with the various boards I hang out on....I don't always agree with the policies of the boards BUT I still stay because I like the community as a whole and I enjoy discussing Trek, dance, whatever.
I for one hope that those that have left, reconsider and if needed take a break.
Please do not let a few bad apples or experiences drive you away from a community that you have already poured so much energy and time into.
It's hard to not take things personally...I know...but sometimes you just have to learn to let things go.
I do hope I don't offend ANYONE when I say it's easy to leave, but harder yet to stay.
Sometimes you have to "work" in order to make things work out.
If there was anything I've learned in my life it's been this.
Things don't always work the way you want them to, and life isn't always fair unfortunately... I learned plenty of that in the military.

So that was kinda long....but I for one hope that each and everyone of us can see past our differences and discuss what we all came here for, To "fix" things we all saw wrong in the Trek Universe.
I for one enjoy everyone's company here and I hate to see a part of our "family" if you will leave.
