Chris has a splotch on his eyelid. Like a swipe of eyeshadow. You can see it in the picture. Other than that, the are pretty identical. And I am pretty nearsighted.
Here is the funniest twin story lately. About three weeks ago I was picking up my kids at night from different parts of town. I overheard this conversation in the back of the car.
Paris: Some of my friends say that now that you cut your hair they walk right up to you and start talking to you thinking that you're me.
Chris: Yeah, I think that happens. Like tonight I was at the O [restaurant] and this guy come up to me with a plate of chicken wings and says, "I can't finish these. You want them?" I was about to say, "Dude, I've literarlly never seen you before in my life" but then I thought, He probably thinks I'm Paris. So I said, . . . SURE!
That cracked me up. The thought of Chris eating a stranger's leftover chicken wings, because he was sure it must be a friend of his brother who offered.
Two nights ago, Chris met the guy at a soccer game. Turns out he's the goalie on Paris's soccer team. They shook hands and had a big laugh about it. Must be like living a science fiction story.

Hey, jusTrip'n, how about you write a twin story - two teenage Vulcan twins were riding in the back of their parents' hovercraft on the outskirts of Shi'Kar when one mentioned something he had read in Surak's teachings about the value of he exceptional telepathic connection that twins had...
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Re: Hallowe'en 2007
There is an identical twin couple at my place of work. When I first started working there I couldn't tell them apart but now I can. The thing is, I have no idea how that works. I couldn't point to any physical differences, but when I see them - together or separately - for some odd reason I can't explain I do know who's who!

She's got an awfully nice bum!

I knew about the pumpkin in North America replacing the turnip that was used in Scotland. My immigrant (from Scotland) grandparents never told me about that, though.
Robert Burns' poem "Halloween" is full of divination techniques. And I just love his poem "Tam O'Shanter" which reminds me of Washington Irving's story "Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Irving met Sir Walter Scott (who met Burns when Scott was a child). So I am wondering if there is a connection there, or both authors dipped into the same ancient legend for their stories!
My Grandmother was from Scotland (Born in Edinburgh).
She used to tell me all kinds of stories about the wee folk and water kelpie, each uisge ( pronouced ech-ooshkya), also selkies.
Used to fascinate me as a kid.
Oh and I LOVE Burns!
