I just received an email from Mark Gardner of the Vulcan Language Institue. This is the content of that email:
Dear Friend of VLI,
On October 15, 2007, an internet domain poacher managed to hijack
our domain http://www.vulcanlanguage.com, which we'd had for a number of
years. Our registration was supposed to be valid through July of
2008 but some sort of clerical error left it vulnerable. We are
working with our domain registrar to try to get the domain back but
it appears the person who now has it wants a large sum to buy it
back. We are not going to do this.
Our domain name is now http://www.vulcanlanguage.org (since we are not run
for a profit, this is a good name anyway). Please update any links
to our site you may have to this URL. If you know anyone that uses
our site, please pass this update to them. We are online and
available for the reference of Vulcan fans.
Thank you and have a great day!
Dif-tor heh smusma..

Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.
Re: Vulcan Language Institute news
Well that's a really rotten thing to do to steal his website like that I hope he gets it back.

Re: Vulcan Language Institute news
If it was a clercial error, the fault shouldn't be with the VLI guys and they should get it back from whoever "sold" it to the domain poacher!
She's got an awfully nice bum!

Re: Vulcan Language Institute news
Yeah, I feel the domain controlers should take responsibility for their mistake. I went to the .com site and it is being offered for sale! Then I went to the .org site and it looks fine, just like it used to. I get the sense that Gardner wants to keep the .org site now because of the non-profit status. So all's well that end's well, to quote The Bard.

Who besides Paramount would pay money for it anyway?

A person would buy the domain because of the traffic it generates.
