Dinah's "The Briar Patch"

Postby CX » Wed Dec 05, 2007 4:59 am

Part I

I'm a little surprised that no one else has posted a topic for this yet, so I guess I will. :)

Unfortunately I can't really rave on and give the kind of detailed review I'd really like to, because I just don't seem to have it in me anymore. :? I will say though that this fic has me really excited, and that I'm definately looking forward to the next installment. 8)

Kiran continues to be an ass, Koss and his daddy show up and give T'Pol the creeps, oh and one of Archer's old buddies shows up. Head on over and read already. ;)

I love this one. :) Read it. I hate Kiran more than Koss. 'nuff said.

Black'nBlue:

Why would you hate the old fart? Aside from being someone of the old school who is a bit slower to embrace the changes that Vulcan is going through i.e. trusting Andorians  . You could liken him to the "Cold War warrior" in our own history.

You must admit that you have something over the man as the all omniscient reader with a perspective of 300 year view into Federation history which he doesn't have.

Also,

In re: Briar Patch.

It is exciting to see where Dinah takes the TnT relationship. The uncertainty of their feelings and commitment to each other has been settled. It seems to me that Dinah would have to take the relationship into new territory where the TPTB were too scared to do so, the actual day to day living of two people from two different species with differing perspective on the world and interstellar events that are happening.

And also deciding whether they have enough courage to buck the system and actually try to have children.

I really liked the first part of this story and the fact the vulcans aren't in agreement about their new government. And that Trip & T'Pol as a couple are more comfortable with each other and that Koss and his father gave her the creeps is understandable. I fell like they're probably up to something and will cause trouble.Kiran is just being his usual cranky self.

I share these thoughts.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I hate the old fart because he is a bigoted SOB. Bigoted SOBs bug me. Especially self-righteous ones.

Thank you for starting this, CX! I never had a topic for my story before. Woohoo! Don't worry about not giving a detailed review. I'm just very pleased that you read my chapter and liked it.

Dialee, I never thought about equating the conservative Vulcans with Cold War warriors. Very interesting and rather apt.

I guess I better get busy and start writing again. The second chapter is from Trip's POV. I have a little time off over the holidays, so I'm hoping to make some headway then. Thanks for the reviews and for reading the first chapter.

wondering: T'Lan is she after Trip for herself? I had the feeling from your first one and its been buging me for some time.

Lee asked about T'Lan. I thought about putting Minister T'Lan in the first chapter, but she just didn't seem to belong there for some reason. She's still around though. As to her having the hots for Trip -- well, I guess that remains to be seen. 8) We all know that Trip is rather irresitible to women, especially alien women.

And Asso, I knew we were on the same wavelength. I'm honored to share the same name with your wife.
