Look on the bright side. I know that there is a pile of books that you have been meaning to get to for a while. Perhaps now you will be able to catch up while your husband and kids serve you your meals in bed.

I know you will come through this just fine! A coworker of mine just had a double knee replacement a month ago. She followed exercise instructions to the letter and is ahead of schedule with her recovery.

Well, I think my coworker only had to exercise about an hour a day - at first. Plenty of time for reading! But she slept a lot too. Hey, my dad was a physician and he did not make a very good patient when he broke his arm. It is part of the job description, I think! But with all the positive energy, prayers, and well wishes we all are sending, your family around you, your own great will power (and we know you have lots - couldn't have produced all that writing without it!) - I will bet you do just fine!

Hey how about a get well card challenge here for Distracted, all you who are graphically gifted? Get well cards from Trip and T'Pol and from each of the Enterprise crew members, with clever messages attached! She can print them off and put them on the table by her bed in her hospital room so all the medical staff will think she is the Queen of Trekkies!
