One thing i forgot. In ENT we are given hardly any background information about TPol, like who was her father and what was is position (probably minister, because most arranged marriages take place at the same social level, and the father of Koss is a minister) and what is influence was on TPOL thinking and acting. Even Spock was giving a reason why he did not had a relationship with the love of his live (in the other side of paradise i think), namely his duty, but the reasons why Tpol is acting towards Trip remains a bit vague.
It looks like in this episode the writers are planning to give more background information about Tpol in the future, or that is just idle wishing from my side?

Yeah, there's going to be more background given to pretty much everyone, including T'Pol. With T'Pol there's going to be little tidbits of information coming out here and there, and in the second season there'll be some more that'll help make our T'Pol stand out more from the one on ENT.
