I hadn't realized it was so long since I did anything with this story. And even longer since I posted about it.
I sent in part 9 of Payment a day ago. Presumably it will get posted as soon as someone gets enough time away from RL to get the chance. All feedback is welcome.

I liked it, and I look forward to the next installment. It's definately an interesting dynamic you've set up with the Vulcans. One wonders though how much V'Lar was hamming it up for Ho-Hoshi though because if the galaxy was as bad as she made it out to be, why would Vulcan have ever bothered to land on Earth and attempt to make first contact as we were shown in part I of IaMD. I'm also a little confused about who got shot. I'm assuming one of the Vulcans. Anyway, looking forward to the next installment.

Well, the Empire Humans aren't really chummy with each other. But they don't stand around and let any non-Human touch one of their own either.
As far as why they landed? To check out the emerging competition before they got strong enough to be a threat of course.

I too got the impression that V'Lar was spinning a bit of a story as a last attempt at getting out of being executed and prove that Vulcan is Loyal to the empire, and only some stupid kids were out there causing trouble. I thought they tried to sap her brain because they couldn't bare seeing her like that. Did they try and sap her brain there, in the end, or have i miss read that?

Well while I loved that speach V'Lar gave to T'pol.Some how I see the Perfect Trek universe for Earth beign somewhere half way Between the Real Universe, an the MU. One where Starfleet is a True Millitary whose soul perpose is defence, where exploration comes 2nd to common sence, but one where were not bent on complete power over the Galaxy. IMO both universes are aiming twards self destruction, The MU cause their to power hungry, an the "RU" cause they lack all common sence. An are bound to get them selves wiped out one day.
I loved the part where the engineers sliced the heads off those body guards, quicker then a horse can switch its tail.
What Im eager to see, is what the Heck Tucker is up to? an what his plans are for the Defiants Command Codes?

I have already given several hints about what Tucker really wants. Consider where he came from, what he is doing now and why he is doing it. You should be able to figure out what is objectives are.
