Star Trek XI Uniforms - SPOILERS
No pictures, but a friend of mine attended a retailers toy show and sent me an e-mail regarding the uniforms. He said the toys being displayed were, among other things, for the Trek XI movie. The uniforms on the figures were basically the same as TOS: tunic shirt and black pants for the guys and mini skirts for the girls. Some difference in the lightness/darkness of the colors of the tunics. The phaser and communicator were also very similiar to TOS, making the same sounds as TOS. The Enterprise itself looks like a cross between TOS ship and the TOS movie Enterprise along with some original modifications, such as a longer cut away section under the shuttle bay area and larger nacelles.

Good god! Those poor actors haven't even been seen onscreen yet and they are already immortalised in plastic and encased in cardboard/bubble packets.

Aaaaaaand they may very well never work again.

Has the movie been postponed to 2009?
I'm donating my body to science fiction.

What why? 2009? Why?

Ths studio thinks it will make more money for the summer of '09 than competing with all the other Christmas movies this year.

Well it IS a business. And the bottom line is always $$$. Nevertheless, I feel jerked around. I was so getting in the mind of seeing it THIS year.

So why didn't they set it for summer in the first place? Instead of getting everybody's expectations set for another time.

Re: Star Trek XI Uniforms - SPOILERS
Had TPTB stuck with actual canon, they would've shown uniforms looking more like they did in The Cage and WNMHGB. But alas, it seems they'll show the more brightly coloured ones (even if a bit subdued) and the miniskirts.

I always liked the minskirts.

Sexy...
Do you agree?
Almost like T'Pol.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I have to admit I've never really spared the actors much thought in the past, but it kills me to think someone as talented as CT might be marooned in a sci fi actor's ghetto forever. I even find myself maternally worrying whether the guy is finding work (which is taking it a bit far, obviously) ... Why is there so little crossover??? Can't they see he's leading man material?????? And NOW, please, while he's still young and adorable?
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

Re: Star Trek XI Uniforms - SPOILERS
Can you imagine being an unknown actor, and your agent says, "Well, they want you for the bridge of the Enterprise in the latest Star Trek."
What do you do?
A: Turn it down like a stupid idiot and curse yourself forever when it turns out that was your one and only big break?
B: Take the job like a stupid idiot and curse yourself forever when it turns out that was your one and only big break, as you are now hopelessly typecast?
All persons selecting option "B" will then be presented with further suboption "B(a)" as a consolation prize:
B(a): Attend dozens of conventions every year during which crowds of freaks will adore you/ and or stalk you/ and or assassinate you;
and at which you can work on your ropy writing-hand tendons by signing hundreds of autographs.
Interesting cultural phenomenon.
