Bookworm and T'Poptarts

Postby Asso » Thu Mar 06, 2008 12:51 am

Excuse me, but in "Fan Fiction by Author" I don't find anything of Bookworm. :?
And also there's not the latest beautiful story of T'Poptarts. :?
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Sometimes when fics get posted on the main fanfic page they don't get posted in the indexes for some reason :? :? :dunno: and like then after they take them off the main page there's no link to them anywhere. :( That's what happened with my fic too

A remedy is necessary, I think! :?

It's a matter of people being swamped and just overlooking it. Theoretically, the person that posts the story to the main page is also supposed to post it to the index and include all relevant links. But sometimes they get interrupted by RL issues. The kid needs fed, or the spouse issues an ultimatum ("Come to the table and join the conversation with your mother-in-law, OR ELSE!") or similar such stuff. Shit happens. I am sure that a tactful but firm reminder sent to the submission email address, something along the lines of HEY! MY STORY ISN'T ON THE INDEX PAGE LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE! will result in a proper correction of the matter at their earliest opportunity.

If that doesn't work, have T'Poptarts start a campaign of putting their heads on various people's bodies and posting them at random intervals on threads throughout the board. The nasiter the better. Place a note on each post that I suggested it, and why I suggested it, so you don't get in trouble. That should get them moving ASAP.

Thanks for calling that to our attention, Asso. Whoever posts the stories on the main page is suppposed to post links to all the indexes too, but apparently it's not always done. When my next posting week comes up at the end of the month, I'll take care of it.

I think the thing with T'Poptarts story might MY fault. We don't always index at the same time as putting stories on the mainpage because we know that the main place people see the fics is the fanfic page, so we want to make sure and get stories on there ASAP. However, we go back and put them into the Archive later. They SHOULD be put into the Archive before they're deleted on the mainpage, but now that we have a handful of posters, it can sometimes get overlooked. It's my fault because I knew that a few stories hadn't been archived yet and I forgot and shore up the list on the mainpage.

It's fine though, because the poster who is indexing the story of which you speak has an old version of the fanfic page which tells them which stories still need to go into the Archive. Our apologies for this little cross-over, but it normally would just go completely unnoticed. Asso just happened to be fic-surfing for that short interval when the story is neither here nor there ;)

Thank you Asso. I wouldn't have noticed that myself. I've been so busy with my masters theses.
