O...kay... so like yesterday I spent a long boring day at the ER... freaked out about needles, starved after over a day and a half of eating nothing, my neck was twisted too oh and did I mentioned that I was BORED. So I just spent the time doodling mostly nonsense. Which I shall now share with you!

All these drawings were done in one day, T'Poptarts? Not only are they good...they must have each been done in a couple of minutes!

Well they're not really "drawings" they're just doodles so yeah they didn't take long. And I didn't let them stick needles in me!!! Yikes I hate needles as for how I am... okay I guess... I'm on cipro and I feel like dren... but heh coulda been way worse (well actually maybe it really is worse, like after all I didn't let them draw blood )

You know, it's kinda hard on doctors when they don't get to see what's going on with your blood count. They must have suspected you had an infection of some kind if they gave you Cipro. I hope that settles it but darlin' you really need to suck it up and let them have some blood next time. Especially after waiting all that time you want a good answer.

Anyway -- check in on the whining thread -- everybody is worried about you!

so how long would you like to go with a serious illness before doing the bloodwork to find out? Fainting is really no big deal...not compared to your health. And you could even maybe ask for a tranquilizer (unless they didn't want to drug you up for whatever reason)....I've seen tons of complete needle-phobics in the dental office come in for their surgery all happy on just one prescribed Valium and we do em all up and they just smile right through it.

Yikes needles well like they can put needles like if they knock me out like before they stick me so that I don't know there's a needle, but the thing is that option doesn't even come up and also they can't force me to get the needle, so like it's not a question of whether I prefer to have like a serious illness and not know about it or faint from the needles, I'd totally rather get the bloodwork done but when the needle issue comes up I'm just way too freaked out and I don't let them and I can't control it because it's my phobia so like at that moment there's no reason there's just needles and I don't want the needle

Ask to talk to the hospital psychologist before hand. She/he will likely have some fabulous coping strategies. Also, maybe ask anyone (a nurse, a friend) to hold your hand and talk to you as you do it.

And think of T'Pol.



You will have to get blood drawn at some point in life. May as well be now, yes? Off you go, then.

Holding hands doesn't help and poor little T'Pol is as you can see just as scared of needles as I am. It's really not as simple as it may seem to needle-friendly people.
