Thanks, I'll keep it in mind. I do plan to go at least to one Star Trek convention in my life time, and then visit some US cities (the east coast mostly). Maybe next year!!

Well, I'm from Costa Rica, and although I don't think there's anything beautiful about our "cities" (and some of us are trying to correct that), there are some breathtaking places scathered around our small territory.

Out in the suburbs, where I lived, is this Historical Site/forest preserve called The Grove. I spent the better part of my youth there.

Now I live in Gainesville, FL. A few years back the Natural History museum at UF added on a butterfly conservatory

The University has some neat old buildings, but otherwise Gainesville's a pretty normal little town.

I have come to US many times, for my work, but never I have saw Chicago, with my great regret.
All people who visited this town told me it is very beautiful, and these images show how they are right.
And that butterfly conservatory! Splendid and... very typical, I believe. :D

This is the Diana's Room, in the royal palace of Venaria Reale, next to Turin.
I think it is peculiar, rather than typical.
