I don't know. I could have sworn I saw him somewhere (Trekkies 2?) joking about how he played Malcolm as gay because he was gay. And he certainly was dancing around with a guy in drag at some party, not that this means anything. Maybe it's just Dominic's idea of funny. Other people on this board assure me he's not, and I've since seen at least one interview where he's talking about snogging someone named Sally. I honestly don't care, but I do think it would have been a more interesting show if Malcolm was gay or flirting with gay or whatever. It could have given the conflict with his father a little more meat than the stupid navy thing. And that Hayes chemistry was hot.

But Enterprise wouldn't have been able to handle a straight story about two gay guys. They could barely handle their heterosexual couple.

I, suppose what she was doing IS a good way to stay chaste, come to think of it. But you have to understand, in the U.S. a Surgeon General (big government position) Jocelyn Elders got fired by BILL CLINTON (the horrible irony) for suggesting such a thing.

I thought she did with Archer occasionally. Or the other way round. Especially in a deleted scene in The Xindi or maybe the Expanse when he thinks she's leaving but she isn't.

I guess I could stretch and see it with Malcolm if he's not going to be too busy pining over Hayes. But is there really anything you could point to between them and say -- look, there's some chemistry?

I liked R/S in "Silent Enemy." But I will admit that I perhaps like the idea of R/S more than how it came across on screen...

In either case, I get irked when DK goes on about playing Malcolm gay because he obviously wasn't. Season 1 established that clearly.

I saw more chemistry between Hoshi and Travis than anyone else, with the possible exception of Archer on rare occasions. And not much even there. She was kind of a cold fish.

A few possible times: The R/S moment in Silent Enemy, in "Minefield", Malcolm lists casualties, but refers to "Hoshi" by name, when Malcolm's talking to Hayes in "Countdown", he tells Hayes that Hoshi's a "friend", but I get the feeling it might be more than that. "Marauders", when she's teaching the colonists, Malcolm seems more than just impressed with her.

Okay, KTR, back to the topic: Mel Gibson, anyone?
