Alelou, I bet we're neighbors! I work about 15 minutes from the Massachusetts border and live in upstate NY as well.

Beyond that are the practical supports of the front vegetable garden, which luckily nobody can see this time of year since it's much more work-a-day. Note the special seed-started petunias utterly failing to bloom in my container at the base of the steps. Next year I'll just buy the danged things.
I adore this house. Thank you, inflated NJ home values, for letting us get this one upstate when we transferred up. I still feel like we won the lottery.
It's splendid, Alelou!
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

HEY, are you saying it looks unkempt?

I meant to get in there and reorganize the slope this year, but I gave up and decided to let it run rampant instead. We didn't have enough rain early on and I didn't have enough moxie to to try to hack all those black-eyed susans up out of the concrete-like clay and then rebuild and replant before some downpour came along and washed everything out.
It was just junipers when we bought it (and nothing on the right). Then the deer decided juniper is their favorite winter food, and enjoyed standing RIGHT THERE in front of the house eating it to the nubs. We'd open the door and they'd stare back at us, chewing. So the juniper gave up.

In this little town, we might even have already met.
If you've ever been to the Cumberland Farms in Sand Lake or Stephentown...
We should meet up sometime!

Yes, we should meet up sometime. I'll be across the street from Cumberland Farms at the library fair this Saturday if your girls enjoy a Bouncy Bounce, face painting, or making trail mix or whatever. (Plus there's the used book sale.) But ask for Sandy, not Alelou.

Oh, and JT -- Pittsburgh is A LOT bigger than Averill Park. A LOT.
And Escriba, where've you been??? I've missed you! (And thanks.)

Darn!
I have to work this Saturday. I work at the Cumbies in Stephentown and my hubby manages it. My girls would have loved that. I remember my youngest bringing the pamphlet home from school about it. We've been trying to get out and socialize more with the older one (the one who is socially anxious and quiet)and my 6 year old is very energetic. Bummer. Maybe another time then. I suppose we're straying a bit O/T here. Let's see...
Here is a convention photo from Vulkon 2006 that I think JT took. Hope D doesn't mind my posting it. An oldie, but still a goodie.

Nice company you're keeping there in that photo! Sorry your girls can't come. I'll keep an eye out. After the fourth I'm sure we could meet up sometime. Before then I have a brother-in-law and a nephew to entertain.
