One Year

Postby Asso » Wed Jul 02, 2008 3:18 pm

One year, this is the time.
One year ago I found courage to post a short story here.
Ulysses, remember?
My God, what a bad language in that my first attempt! (Well! I can't say I have gone much better, in regards to that! )
And yet, all of you encouraged me to keep writing, and I did.
So, owing to the kindness I have found here, I have been able to taste the writing delight.
I wanted to start this thread in order to thank all people that gave this delight to me, all people that showed appreciation for my efforts, and also all people that didn't like my style and my stories, hoping (maybe) they would find something cherishable in my next fics (because I have no intention to stop! )
And, in particular, I wish to thank justTripn, who had the strength to be my first Beta, and Linda, who have the strength to do it now.
And blacknblue, who first encouraged me (The fault is yours! :D )
Thanks to all people.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I hate to take the credit, but I will gladly take the blame. :D The first year of many I hope.

Happy Anniversary! It's been 3 1/2 years for me. It's hard for me to believe. Seems like I've been writing forever. 8)

congrats, Asso!. I think I can say without equivocation that Triaxian Silk would not be..... Triaxian Silk without you :)

JT also pointed out to me that July 1 was our 18 Month Anniversary for being open, and so far we have accepted (including the 4 in the box I need to go put up... that have come in in only the FIRST TWO DAYS of the month, including from two new authors)...

271 stories.

Man, I don't even remember when I really started... Back in '03 or '04 I think, when I started Endeavour.

Asso, you're welcome. I especially enjoyed your "Something typical thread," which caused us all to open up and share about our particular hometowns. It has really broadened my horizons.

I want to again encourage non-Native English speakers to write and contribute stories to this site. I think great writing begins in being able to imagine the story. That's the hard part. If you can picture the story, the easy part is to tell it. So great writing isn't about proper English. Fixing the English is easily done once the story is set down in some way. I think I've edited 5 non-Native English speakers and I'm happy to help, when I'm not actually writing (WHICH I AM once again!)
I'm donating my body to science fiction.

Thank you, Asso for your postive attitude. And encouragement. And for "beta-ing" my French. Très bien (with accent on the e). :D
